six months of Lennon & Merritt 💕

a year ago, we got the biggest surprise of our lives at our pregnancy confirmation appointment when we learned we weren’t just having one baby… we were having two!
neither of our families has a history of twins, and honestly the idea of multiples felt scary. I remember processing out loud: “how are we going to do this?”

now, I truly can’t imagine life any other way. these girls have brought an immense amount of joy into our lives, especially in this season. everything may take twice as long and cost what feels like four times as much, but they (and Shiloh!) are constant reminders of God’s faithfulness and kindness to us.

no one warns you that time somehow goes even faster with your second and third babies. they’re still so little, but I already find myself longing for the days when they were those teeny babies we brought home from the hospital. at the same time, it has been so much fun watching their little personalities start to peek out and seeing how they interact with each other.

they’re flipping, rolling, and starting to move all over the place, and while I may feel more physically tired than ever, I’m equally as excited to watch these bebes continue to grow.

Happy Birthday to my heart thief. I still cant figure out what I did to please God that He would gift me you. You are my wisdom and stay. Our girls don’t yet know that they have the greatest role model they could ask for from birth.

Lennon Remani Saathoff & Merritt Elizabeth Saathoff 🤍

Our sweet girls joined our family on Monday - born at the exact same minute and the exact same weight.

Shiloh has been so proud to meet her baby sissies, and mom + dad are completely in love.

Finding out we were expecting twins was the biggest shock of our lives. This journey stretched me mentally and physically in ways I didn’t expect, but through every hard and scary moment, this pregnancy was also such a beautiful reminder of the Lord’s kindness and faithfulness to our family.

We made it to 36 weeks + 3 days because of the most incredible doctor. When she delivered Shiloh, we knew she had to be the one to deliver our future babies. She is truly the smartest and kindest doctor, and she was always there when I needed her wisdom and reassurance. I’m so grateful it worked out that she was the one who brought all of our babies into the world. Thank you so much @zuri.bryant.md for everything 🫶🏽

And of course, I couldn’t have done any of this without Mike. He’s always carried so much of the load at home, but these past few months he’s taken on even more - cooking, cleaning, loving on Shiloh, and making sure I could focus on growing these two babies. Watching the way he cares for our family, and especially how he’s taken care of me postpartum, makes me fall even deeper in love with him. I’m so grateful you’re the one I get to do life with.

🤎 Café Bébés Saathoff 🤎 Yesterday we got to celebrate our twin girls and their soon arrival with the sweetest group of people. We feel so lucky to be surrounded by so much love - both near and far.

This day wouldn’t have been possible without @thekylienew . She helped me take a vision I had for this shower and truly bring it to life, putting in so much physical work to make every detail happen. Honestly… what can she not do?

Thank you to @chrissteinberg_ for capturing some of the sweetest photos for us to remember this baby shower by.

And last but not least, thank you to the @socialhouseroswell team for letting us host our shower there. Because of Pastor @geraldfadayomi’s vision, we were able to celebrate in such a beautiful space, and we’re so grateful!

Chapter V • Wow, I’m just in awe that somehow my path would lead me to you. I can remember the day that you caught my eye and it was how you served others. I also remember the day that I knew I loved you. That day became my Groundhog Day because it’s unending (only the 1900 folk will understand). You made me hope again in the darkest moments. You also tended to my heart when I didn’t even want to know that it was damaged. The easiest thing for you to have done was say No…. But your Yes meant and means the world to me. Your strength and resilience is unmatched and your love unwavering. You challenge, encourage, and protect like none other. You made me a husband, father, and better follower of Jesus. five! hard to believe that five years have already passed by but in the same breath believe it’s only been five years - I think the grays in our hair would suggest at least a decade 😅.

it’s been hard. it’s been a joy. it’s been stretching. it’s been a comfort and safe. there’s been breakthrough. and there’s been fun. we’ve had many a transitions. moves, jobs, parenthood and now more babies. five years have brought a lot and I’m excited to see what the next five, ten, fifteen and beyond will bring. the best thing is, no matter what - you’re still my one that I get to experience it all with.

was gathering pics from our past anniversaries and had to cheat with the last one since the day is still young. but realized we’ve really slacked on just taking pics of the two of us. so let’s vow to do so more in the future!

Shiloh will be a big sis to not just one but TWO baby girls this March!! We couldn’t be more shocked but also so very excited for our twins to join our family 🩷🩷

Pretty sure my childhood obsession with Mary-Kate & Ashley had something to do with this 😂

Just say a little prayer for us as we’ll have 3 under the age of 2… and especially for Mike as he processes that he’s a full-on girl dad now 😅 by @mikesaathoff
