“Fox Island Sunset”, 8 x 10, oil on panel. This is my first post in a little over a year. In 2022 I underwent two eye surgeries. Thank the Lord my vision was restored to a point where I can finally paint again. In the interim I wrote my first book entitled “Faithful are the Wounds”, a memoir from my life about grief and faith in God. It will be available soon. #landscapepainting #lancastercounty #lancastercityarts #figindustries #capecodart #capecodartist #lancasterartist # #capecodlife #capecod #oilpainting #pennsylvanialandscapes #artcollectors #oilpaintersofamerica #landscapeoilpainting by @mikeshaw_art

“Sunrise on Calamus Run”, 48 x 72, oil on canvas. This is a recently completed commission for the new Penn State Health hospital here in Lancaster County. It’s the largest painting by far that I’ve ever done. I’ve been working on this since December. One of my challenges was an eye problem that left me with some distorted vision. I was able to work through this, thanks be to God. It’s nice to be able to post again.

A sampling of paintings, both Lancaster County and Cape Cod, from my work in 2021. Hoping for a wonderful Christmas season and a Happy New Year to all.

“A New Day”, 18 x 24, oil on panel. Recently completed. This is a sunrise in Paradise Township, Lancaster County. I love how the rising sun rolls back the night sky and throws light onto the darkened fields.

“Walnut Run”, 30 x 30, oil on linen. The creeks and runs of Lancaster County meander through the farmlands in such interesting and beautiful ways. This example in Strasburg Township is one of my favorites.
