✨️ Today! Join the local legacy DJ group @newjackswingdjs for New Jack Spring, a day party at @latchkeyatx featuring vendors and food specials from @smokinroseatx, 3-8 PM 🎉

🥳 For our March 23 episode, longtime friends and collaborators Protégé @imdjprotege and Mike Swing @mikeswing are in studio! They discuss the history of New Jack Swing in popular culture, their own personal history with the genre, and how they found a common ground DJing with DJ Kid Slyce @kidslyce.

🎙@kazifm88.7 Eva The Analog Diva continues her documentation of Austin's Hip-Hop History, and co-hosts the interview.

🎉 Our suprise guest, legacy rapper turned pro chef, DOS @__chefdos__ came to visit! As a solo rapper, and part of the historical local crew SubKulture Patriots @subkultpatriots, DOS built a solid fan base and community in Austin.

🦁💙 He ventured into pizza making, while still living in town, and is now based in Detroit as a sous chef for the NFL team The Detroit Lions @detroitlionsnfl. He talks about his roots in Austin Hip-Hop, and his culinary rise.

💐 ✨️ Thank you so much to our returning KOOP apprentice @_porshea and to emerging rapper JMAC the Dragon @jmac_dragon for joining us!

🎧 Our playlist celebrates New Jack Swing music --- what Swing describes a fusion of Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Jazz and Funk:

Wrecks-N-Effect - New Jack Swing
Boyz II Men & Michael Bivins - Motownphilly - Remix
Guy - Groove Me
Essence - Lyrics 2 the Rhythm
Janet Jackson - Nasty
Keith Sweat - I Want Her
Tony! Toni! Toné! - Feels Good
