@chaipanimom here, fam! ❤️I wrote my soon to be released book, Service Ready, to share Chai Pani’s story, so I knew I wanted the cover to reflect our aesthetic. One that’s beautiful and woven with meaning. Gratefully, @scribnerbooks collaborated with Chai Pani’s Magic Maker @mikeycremefraiche to totally nail it. I’m starting out this new year in Meherwan’s family home in India (last slide). The place that inspired so much of our story. In honor of Service Ready’s upcoming release, my team sat down with Mikey to chat about his design process and the details that mattered most. I wanted to share some of the sweet and inspiring highlights from our convo.Color:“The main color of the cover is this sort of mix of cerulean blue and turquoise. In Meherabad near Meherwan’s home in India, I’ve always vibed on that particular shade of turquoise that is painted everywhere. Molly really loved that color in particular because it’s welcoming and calming, and I think sort of indicative of her approach to service. ”The border:“The yellow border with the pink flowers and the green, that was inspired by the floral designs that you see in India. Particularly on walls in Jaipur and Rajasthan in northern India, but other parts of India too. You see these great floral motifs that are often inside buildings, inside rooms, on door frames, and sort of framing rooms in different ways.”Typography & Art:“The little sunburst next to “Ready” in the title, the parentheses next to the chai and the stars, the little starburst next to the tiger, the certain way that the squiggle line is done; that’s all taken from Indian truck art as well. Then the banner for “Molly Irani” I redrew in the style of what you would see on matchbox art from India.”The Tiger:“Molly really liked this particular tiger, which is inspired by a painting of the goddess Durga. Hindu gods are often depicted on an animal vehicle. Durga rides this tiger, representing the sacred feminine force. This particular tiger looked like it kind of had a combination of being fierce but also somewhat gentle. You know, just like Molly.”#author #wnc #design #scribner #publisher by @mikeycremefraiche

Our dearest most beloved brother, Daniel has gone to God. He’s left this mortal coil. It’s surreal to be writing these words. We are in shock as a family, and I’m sure you are in shock as well reading these words. I’m sorry to have to break them to you — the great community around the world that loved this man in this adorable form. It’s hard to imagine Daniel not with us anymore. So full of life, intelligence, love, and mischief. But he is with us. He always will be. His soul is still very much alive, of that I can assure you. He won’t leave us that simply. He will be back to beguile us in the most endearing ways. As he always does. But to give you the facts of the matter, Daniel was in Japan recently, enjoying another incredible trip visiting small ski towns and onsens known to ski aficionados like himself. Having the time of his life. Enjoying “one last trip” before finally settling down in LA, getting an apartment, and really getting down to brass tacks with his career. But instead he never had to do that. He went out on a high. Skiing to his heart’s content. In his most happy place. The shock is raw. We are staring into an abyss of grief and sadness but trying to stay at its edges. I think as a family we aren’t exactly sure how to feel or act. This is a profound loss. But we also know Daniel’s spirit endures. And always will. We will surely have a memorial soon in Myrtle Beach and will make an announcement about that as soon as we can. Please feel free to gather photos and stories to share. Feel free to post yourselves. Please feel free to reach out also. Not sure if we will immediately respond but we love you all so much just as we know you all loved Daniel. We know there are so many wonderful stories and laughs to share amongst our tears. This all feels very unreal right now, but we feel we must push through and get the message out. Our hearts are full with your love for Daniel. AMBKJ. Big news here. My beautiful wife Erin is pregnant with our baby boy. I’m going to be a Daddy, she’s going to be a gorgeous Mommy. He’s going to be the Kwisatz Haderach. I just know it. We are literally due in two days, so I guess I should have posted this sooner, but I just stopped using social media for some reason. Should have posted some pics from our beautiful marriage also from back in October of 2022. But we’ll get to it eventually! :) I am so grateful and so happy to have Dallas (@rallascouston, photographer of this shoot) and Cherry (@earl_had_to_die, stylist/art director for this shoot) in our lives. I love you guys so much and I am literally forever grateful til the day I die for these photos that will be a part of our son’s story forever. We are feeling so much love and support from all our friends. Thank you all so much for all the support you have showered on us already. Some of you have also asked about our baby registry.
