Happy to join the adidas runners Warsaw crew in 2026.

@runnersofwarsaw definitely gave me a lot for my running experience during the past years. Glad that I can now repay the team for their help. And that I can help others in their running adventures.

Looking forward to a season full of training and exciting events.

2025 year in running, summary.

The main goal for this year was tourism through running. Happy to conclude that this aim was successfully achieved. Participated in races in a number of countries abroad and in a lot of different cities in Poland. Earned the crown of Polish half-marathons and the prize for running in all three historical capitals.

There were no any particular plans for improving the results. I thought that athletic growth was incompatible with running tourism. However, have managed to achieve the results that hadn’t even hoped for in the beginning of the year.

There were injuries keeping me from trainings and making me doubt about achieving the goals. Luckily, carefully dealt with them. There was a risk, that several weeks without trainings would break my plan for 3000 km in a year. Happily, this goal was achieved as well.

As for the numbers:
- 17 races
- 10 cities
- 4 countries
- 6 pairs of running shoes (3 new ones)
- 3084 km (running only, without hiking)

✅ 5k - 19:51 (2024) ➡️ 18:36 (2025, Bieg Konstytucji 3 Maja) ➡️ 18:19 (2025, City Trail Warszawa), -1.5 minute
✅ 10k - 38:48 (2024) ➡️ 36:59 (2025, Bieg Niepodległości), -2 minutes
✅ Half-Marathon - 1:29:07 (2024) ➡️ 1:22:58 (2025, Cracovia Półmaraton Królewski), -6 minutes
✅ Marathon - 3:18:32 (2024) ➡️ 2:55:53 (2025, Valencia Marathon), -22.5 minutes

Breaking three hours in the marathon turned out to be an achievement that seemed impossible at the beginning of the year. I am really proud of that.

Thanks @runnersofwarsaw for a lot of trainings and for the possibility to be a part of the running community. Adidas Runners are the important part of my running experience.

That’s it for 2025. Looking forward to 2026 with plans to hold back my running ambitions. The idea is to have more joy from the running and not to chase any goals.

07.12.2025 - Valencia Marathon. New Personal Best - 2:55:53

In the beginning of the year I was pretty sure that beating 3 hours in a marathon is not a reachable goal for 2025, maybe only for the next year. However, things have changed a bit closer to the end of the summer when I realised the actual condition. The final decision to attack the 3 hours barrier was made after the fast HM in Kraków.

Still a lot of things kept me from the fast running: knee injury reappeared after marathon trainings, I caught a soft sickness a week before the event. The last days before the race were not chilling: a lot of walking, overdid the shake out run. Even during the race I somehow lost one of the gels and had to adjust my nutrition plan in the process.

But none of this dampened my spirits. Emotions were running high before the start. The running pace was caught easily - it appeared even a bit faster than expected. The support of the fans through the city was amazing. Was a pleasure to meet @mikolaj_raczynski near the 5th km and to have a short talk. The run was full of fun and enjoy.

Definitely the things became harder closer to 30th kilometre. It was not the wall, but enjoying mode switched to the pushing one in order to keep the same pace. Was just counting kilometres till the finish line one by one. However, after the 40th it was like a teleport to the finish: no more counting, no more hard pushing, only emotions.

I was accumulating the reserve of 4 minutes below 3 hours through all the race just in case if something happens closer to the finish line. Happy that this spare time was used just for the improvement of final result: 2:55:53. Very proud of this time, that seemed to be unreachable.

This could not happen without the support of my beloved wife @katarina_wish . Being with me through all the trainings, worrying about me, being there at the event. She even got random local people to cheer for me - it was really surprising. Thank you for all your support, patience and sacrifices.

So, it was a powerful end of a powerful year. No more major races during the last weeks, just chilling and looking at the plans for 2026. taken in Valencia, España by @miklappo

11.11.2025 - 35. Bieg Niepodległości (35th Independence Run) - New Personal Best in 10K - 36:59

Very good result which I was not expecting from myself.

There a was a bit of trainings specifically for this race, but still it was considered as a sideway run during the marathon preparation. The goal was to beat 38:00 without any big expectations.

The weather was a bit cold as for me. Prefer racing in temperatures above 10 C. There were unexpectedly too much people aside during the first two kilometres. I supposed that running below 3:45 would allow me to get out of the crowd, but I was pleasantly surprised with such an amount of fast runners.
Closer to the middle realised that with some efforts I am able to keep 3:42 pace which is five seconds faster than my plan for the race. Decided to keep it even if I would have to slow down closer to the finish line. Fortunately managed to keep the speed till the end, however without any acceleration on the last meters.

On the finish was thinking of 10-20 seconds below 38 minutes, but not the whole minute. It was definitely a moment of happiness, when I realised the actual result time.

Can’t help but say that this was a race surrounded by a large number of familiar faces. It is hard to mention everybody who helped to get mentally ready before and during the race, and everybody who celebrated the results together afterwards. Would like to highlight @wlodekglodek , @ba.run.ek and @usain.wojt who were motivating me on the track (even without the words 😅). Funny that I have also met two of them on the track previous year. Thanks also to @ilubersh for the support before and after, and also for the photos.

So, one more race, one more PB. And only one more big event left this year. taken in Rondo Zgrupowania AK „Radosław” w Warszawie by @miklappo

13.10.2025 - 11. PKO Cracovia Półmaraton Królewski (11th Kraków Half-Marathon). New personal best - 1:22:58

This race was the targeted one. Had been planning to set a new record here since the mid-summer. The idea was to hit the 1:25:00 level, so the corresponding pace was practiced during the trainings.

Frankly speaking, there were a lot of doubts about running below 1:25. Did not feel prepared enough, last weeks of running were a bit messy. Additionally, the surprise came on Friday before the race when I felt sick. Runny nose, sore throat made me thinking of even skipping this race.

So, there were no any city sightseeing on Saturday, only BIB pick-up and the full day of rest. Luckily, after having some anti-cold remedies felt quite well at the start. As it often happens to me, lack of time management resulted in shortened warm-up.

From the beginning of the race I was running in front of 1:25 pacers. Was surprised by the ability to keep the pace even faster than it was planned. Even was considering to slow down, but realised that it was not necessary. Felt the tiredness around 9th kilometre, but it only meant that some additional efforts had to be added to continue keeping the pace.

Liked the track itself. Maybe it’s not the fastest one due to a couple of slight uphills, but they did not hit me much. Different city landscapes: old town, field, bridges, promenade, some wild area. This made the race not boring, I was not just expecting for the next kilometre mark, as it was happening sometimes with other tracks.

Closer to the end of the race I realised that 1:25 barrier seemed to be hit, however I got no idea that I had brought additional two minutes below it. It was a real surprise at the finish line. Thanks @ilubersh for the possibility to share these emotions.

Really happy with the result, really proud of it. It was the last half-marathon for this year, so looks like an impressive finale. Thanks @runnersofwarsaw for all the trainings. And thanks a lot to my wife for the constant support.

Now paying for the bills with being fully sick with cough and fewer (no regrets), but looking forward for the next (not HM) races this year 🙂 taken in Kraków, Poland by @miklappo

21.09.2025 - 48. Półmaraton Lechitów - 1:28:16

It was planned to be a training pace run without breaking any records. It started according to the plan, was keeping myself from running too fast, managed to do some photos and some talking 🙂 However things changed a bit closer to the finish line.

The main issue was the weather. It was displayed as +30C during the race. Moreover, the track was located in the fields without any buildings or trees, so there were no shadows. As a result, keeping the target pace became harder in the second half of the race. However, still managed to run not slower than it was planned.

Actually, it was my first experience of running the half-marathon in a countryside. Moreover, it was not a circular, but end-to-end track. From the place of Poland foundation to the city of Gniezno. Liked this idea very much. Unfortunately, it caused some problems with bus shuttles to the start which were delayed. So, warm-up was in a bit of hurry.

Still it was definitely a new type of the race for me. Glad to have such an experience. One new place for my tourism-through-running this year. And the set of races for the Crown of Polish Half-Marathons is completed. Waiting for my reward 🥳.

Of course, thanks a lot to my wife and Oxy who were cheering me and accompanying me in most of my trips supporting such a crazy hobby. taken in Gniezno, Poland by @miklappo

Vacation in Dolomites
9 days of hiking and living in mountains.
I guess this trip can be described as diverse. Both short easy hikes and challenging full day adventures with reaching the altitudes. Sweating under the 30-degrees sun and waking up at near-0, surrounded by frost. Sleeping in a tent in mountain camping and staying in authentic Italian hotel. Sunny landscapes and rainy foggy surroundings when you cannot see anything farther than 100 meters.
Unexpectedly turned out that one of the most pleasant things in the trip was improvisation. Having a car and not having any pre-booked reservations allowed us changing the plans in any convenient way. Enjoyed such a freedom, though typically I prefer everything pre-planned.
All these mountain views are definitely worth seeing. It is a must-visit place if you enjoy hiking, the amount of various trails is immense.
Liked this vacation, though it cannot be described as chilling and relaxing. Additionally, as a bonus, managed to have a short visit to Venice 🙂 taken in Dolomites, Italian Alps by @miklappo

26.07.2025 - Adidas Runners City Night - New personal best in 10K - 38:11

Long story short: an unexpectedly good result despite all the difficulties.

There was no any targeted training plan for this run. Just did it on the base of regular daily trainings. Had some stress in race weekend due to private reasons. There were doubts whether I am assigned to an appropriate start zone. Additionally, haven’t looked in advance how deposit works, so had to quickly get back to the hotel during warm-up. All of these supposed that I am not in a good condition to show great results. At least the weather was very good for running 🙂

Regardless, started running with the plan for 38:30. Moreover, deliberately accelerated in the beginning in order to get out of the group with slower runners. Was a bit worried about the X shape of the track, thought that there will be a lot of turns. But as it turned out, the track was very nice. I liked and used the idea of counting how many segments left instead of counting remaining kilometres.

The run was not easy, sometimes the pace was worse than the planned one. I had to push myself during all the track, legs did not want to run with the target tempo without additional efforts. Luckily got a bit of boost from the fans. @konradtaber @zavhorodnya_olha @cysssiax33 @runmalmon thank you for your support on the track.

When crossing the finish line, wasn’t expecting such a good time on the watch. Very satisfied with the achieved result.

Of course, I can’t help but thank @yourock_club who organized the whole trip to this race, allowing me not to worry about anything extra.

So, nice run, nice trip, nice result. And one more location for my year of tourism-via-running. taken in Berlin, Germany by @miklappo

14.06.2025 - 11. PKO Nocny Wrocław Półmaraton (11th Night Wrocław Half-Marathon). 1:28:07

First experience of running half-marathon during a dark time of the day. It was not a problem, there was enough light on the track and the weather conditions were quite good.

Actually, I liked the track a lot. Landscapes were changing: visited stadium, historical center, parks, fountains. Really wish to run this race one more time, but with the calm pace in order enjoy all the views.

As for the run itself, the plan was to run fast, but without breaking PBs, something a bit below 1:30:00. However, the atmosphere of the event gave me a speed up. Also a strange pacemaker for 1:30 running below 4:00/km played his role in my increased speed. At the end I was even a bit disappointed with the result since the expectations during the race were slightly faster. The reason is some strange gap (~300m) between GPS length and track markings that appeared only near the end, around 19th kilometre. Still it was very quick, reasonably quicker than the initial plan, so I am satisfied with the result.

Was travelling to Wrocław on my own, didn’t meet any runners I know before/during/after the race (except for the moment right behind finish line 😀), so it was such a all-by-yourself experience. However a nice surprise was the support from @hannarud_by and Alex on the track. Thanks a lot, it’s really nice when there are fans who support you by name.

So, visited Wroclaw, enjoyed the city, enjoyed the race. And now having four races completed for the crown of Polish half-marathons. taken in Wroclaw, Poland by @miklappo

Weekend in the Tatra Mountains.
Celebrating 11 years together with the love of my life.

Two days of hiking with a night in a mountain chale.
Palenica Białczańska - Rusinowa Polana - Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza - Wodospad Siklawa - Dolina Pięciu Stawów (chalet) - Szpiglasowy Wierch (2172) - Morskie Oko - Czarny Staw Pod Rysami - Morskie Oko - Wodogrzmoty Mickiewicza - Palenica Białczańska

One day of trail running and resting.
Zakopane - Cyrhla - Murowaniec - Nosal - Zakopane

And small hike with visiting Mylna Cave. This was really confusing since the expectation was to make a couple of nice photos near the entrance, but it ended with 30 minutes of squeezing and crawling on the knees. However, no regrets 🙂

Very nice and cool trip. Very happy to spend time like this with my soulmate. taken in Zakopane, Tatra Mountains, Poland by @miklappo

11.05.2025 - 12. PKO Białystok Półmaraton (12th Białystok Half-Matathon). 1:34:02

Very late report.

Finally, it was a half-marathon without any speed goals. The idea was just to have a joyful run and to visit a new city. Didn’t even know which pace to choose for the race, however a day in advance found a possibility to support @fizjo.bozka with beating her PB.

So, it became a supporting run, the second one in my experience. I cannot say that it was pacemaking, since Bożena was making the pace on her own, no chance of slowing her down if she feels like running faster. I was just trying to be nearby, to assist with anything required and to make photos 😄.

The weather was interesting. A bit cold while waiting for the start. Warm enough for running during the start. But unexpected rain with hail and wind appeared around 18th km. Luckily it was not the issue after the finish.

As for speed, the goal was to beat 1:35:00. The pace in the beginning was even faster, leaving some time reserves. Some slowing down happened after 12th km, but not something that could ruin the result. What was fully unexpected is the last three kilometres. Bożena showed incredible abilities and made an impressive burst of speed (-15 seconds per kilometre). So, the result is 1 minute less than the target time.

Summarising, it was an enjoyable and positive race. Confirmed once again that it is more fun to run in a group. And I have counted one more start for the crown of half-marathons. taken in Białystok, Poland by @miklappo
