@docktion_team held a one day sword seminar and I finally learned how to use one! I’m looking forward to practicing more fight scenes using swords in the future (I just bought two realistic foam swords ⚔️). Thank you @wo_okkim and @wo_okkim always being great partners! #martialarts #action #액션 #filmmaking #stunts by @mikole86

👉 Send it! We Recreated the Mission Impossible bathroom fight with @mikole86 and some students while teaching at a film school here in Korea!! 🇰🇷🎬

We had our students learning Action Filmmaking by doing fight recreations.. and seeing their hard work, Mike and myself felt so inspired that we decided to jump in on the action!

We broke down the scene, studied the choreography, camera angles, and timing… then rebuilt it shot by shot. 💥

👉 This is one of my favorite ways to teach action filmmaking and stunts —reverse engineer great scenes and learn by doing.

Super proud of this group!! And also grateful to the students who stepped in to run camera for us, as well as Jude who played Tom Cruise’s part! You all took direction so well and I’m proud to see how you work on a set 🥲 we all put in an awesome effort, with great energy, and a lot of laughs along the way.

What fight scene should we recreate next?

I’m super excited to announce that we’re making a movie! The film, Underpass (working title), is in the production phase and is looking good so far. With that being said, making a film is expensive! If possible, please consider helping us out with a small donation. The money raised will go toward equipment rental fees, transportation, catering, and much more. I’ll keep all donors up to date with the film’s progress, access to BTS footage and, of course, they will get an early screening of the film.
.
The link is in my bio! Anything you can donate will be BEYOND appreciative! Please help support our action film 🎞️ 👊 🙏 Please feel free to share this as well! #filmmaking #film #fundraising #brokefilmmaker #actionfilm #action #indiefilmmaker #indiefilmmaking by @mikole86

For a summer project, I wanted to spend time in film: Watching movies, training in action, creating films AND learning how to use a sword on camera! Yes, this is pretty dorky, but I think I’m past caring at this point in life 😆. I look forward to using sword choreography in a film sooner or later!
.
By the way, I’m planning to start teaching film on my new Instagram @studiob120 ! It took me awhile, but I finally got my third stripe on my blue belt in BJJ! Work and other distractions kept me from progressing, but it feels good to get back on the mats! Thanks @songdojiujitsu for being just a fun, friendly place to train! Also, thanks Coach for always being a good friend and brother! #bjj #martialarts #songdo #training #jiujitsu #주짓수 #healthylifestyle #southkorea taken in Songdo International Business District by @mikole86

I wasn’t too happy with my performance here. My body can perform the movements, but my acting is kind of off. I really need to sit down and study my own acting and improve things like reactions, facial expressions, character, etc. It is always a fun time though at @docktion_team ! I’m so behind on posting action videos! So, I’m starting my original YouTube channel back up, but I’m going to teach filmmaking and film analysis. To be honest, I don’t think I know all I need to know to be able to pull off this channel, but I know I will learn as I go! Can’t let fear stop you from doing what you love!
.
As always, thank you @docktion_team for teaching me how to fight on camera. Now I just need to fix my facial expressions 🫠#martialarts #action #액션 #screenfighting #영화 #actionchoreography #stunt #seoul #southkorea #filmmaking taken in Songdo- Incheon by @mikole86

It’s been awhile since I uploaded any of my action training! Still building brick by brick and struggling the whole way (but I love it 😍)! The next thing I need to work on is stop making these stupid faces when filming 🤣. I feel like I’m learning more about acting than anything else! 항상 많이 가르쳐 주셔서 감사합니다 @leeseel @act_junwoo #martialarts #action #액션 #screenfighting #영화 #actionchoreography #stunt #seoul #southkorea #filmmaking taken in 망원역 by @mikole86

I never post my students online, but I’m SO PROUD of the work they are doing in class. I only taught them action choreography for a few days and this is what one group made in about 40 minutes. Great job team! Now let’s keep going! #martialarts #action #액션 #screenfighting #영화 #actionchoreography #stunt #southkorea #filmmaking #filmteacher #teacher #ibfilm by @mikole86

Had a fun training session with @wo_okkim at @docktion_team ! He’s such a great partner and actor. I think honestly this is my weakest point. I’m having to learn how to act while understanding choreography. At least I’m having fun doing it! #martialarts #action #액션 #screenfighting #seoul #영화 #actionchoreography #stunt #southkorea #filmmaking taken in Incheon, Korea by @mikole86

I shot this almost 11 years ago right before coming to Korea! My partners and I were really into screen fighting and found time to finally shoot a few action sequences at a gym in Augusta (Georgia). This was my FIRST one, so don’t judge me! #martialarts #action #액션 #screenfighting #seoul #augusta #georgia #영화 #actionchoreography #stunt #filmmaking taken in Incheon, Korea by @mikole86
