Reminiscing on what I learnt during the street photography workshop with Bernard Kalu @spwwbk during @toluade_ session, I’ve decided to bring the story telling skill back home, starting with my dad’s story. Anticipate 😊 by @milan_documentaries
It’s finally here 💃💃 Dear diary is a story of a teenage girl, it is now on my YouTube channel and it is to celebrate international day for the elimination of violence against women. Shot and edited on my phone. Shoutout to my sister @praisethemodel for being the best cast ever by @milan_documentaries
The past few days have been a great one. I had the privilege of documenting @justfotos_media for her first Canon training. I have been seeing her work all over the media. It was a different experience speaking to the person behind those works. She is an awemazing creative. It's also great to see @canoncnafrica partnering with @sportinglagos to raise the next generation of sports photographers. These things make the job worthwhile, passing on the torch to more people to keep shining the light. #canontraining #sportphotograpy #canon #sportinglagos by @milan_documentaries
This month was so packed with a lot of good things. One of those good things was training these boys at Abeokuta, the basics of photography. Thanks to @canoncnafrica and @debraspalaceinitiative for coming together to shape the lives of these young men. I have seen and watched different Canon trainers do this over and over, and I have learned so much from watching them do it, I must say that Canon has the best trainers in the world, I am always writing whenever I hear every trainer teach because there is just a way they will explain things and you will be like "is this the same thing I know?" 😀 Thank you @canoncnafrica for giving me this opportunity. Long time no post. I had the privilege of representing our new baby at the Durban FilmMart last week, my first ever pitch for funding by the way. I got my pass, representing the "Agbajowo Collective" The journey to this pitch day ehn, very crazy. On the flight to Nairobi, I was just mumbling things to myself and people sitting around me were looking at me somehow (I was practicing my pitch). I went to the toilet when I got to Nairobi and I was talking to myself in the mirror because I must not let my collective down. It must be excellent. Excellent or excellent, no other option. 7 minutes to pitch, 7 minutes for questions and we did it in front of all these amazing people. Opening night. Opening night Opening night. I am a foodie! I met lovely people from my continent. My girl! Ivy! I was left inspired by the opening film. We didn't leave empty handed, not just one award. Not just two awards. Three awards! Congratulations to mi ladies. Congratulations, Cheyi. Congratulations, Mumo! Thank you, Durban. ❤️ For your information, you have never seen a film like "The Boy Who Spoke Static" before. Film wey we never do, wey don dey win awards, what do you think? We are coming for all the awards once we are done. by @milan_documentaries
The Photography Class continued on day 2 with our facilitator, @milan_documentaries taking the boys through the various types of pictures, and genres in photography. After a brief theoretical class, the boys were tasked with taking pictures and practicing what they have learnt so far. A student of History and Strategic Studies at the University of Lagos, Temitope’s creative vision is shaped by her passion for human rights and social justice. She is the co-director and co-writer of the feature film “The Legend of the Vagabond Queen of Lagos”, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and screened at several film festivals across the world, earning multiple recognitions including an Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA). Beyond this, Temitope has contributed to a range of acclaimed film and media projects that have won awards for their impact and storytelling depth. She has also worked with Canon, expanding her technical and visual practice through professional engagement with imaging tools and storytelling platforms. She is a member of the Agbajowo Collective, a community of artists and storytellers committed to documenting and amplifying grassroots realities in Nigeria. Her practice bridges research and visual storytelling, using participatory media and community-centered narratives to inspire empathy, accountability, and action. She also works with grassroots organizations to document resilience, empower youth, and advocate for inclusive development within urban poor communities. #chroeocinemaworld #film by @milan_documentaries
