Today was full of unique meetings and experiences—a true journey back in time.
In the morning, we visited the Datoga tribe, skilled pastoralists and farmers, who raise livestock and cultivate the land.
By the afternoon, we were welcomed by the Hadzabe tribe, one of Africa’s last true hunter-gatherer communities. Living off the grid without farming or permanent shelters, they live in complete harmony with nature and communicate through a fascinating click-based language.

Off the beaten path safari. 🌿🏹

Days like these redefine what travel is all about!

Ngorongoro is the world’s coolest volcanic caldera, home to an incredible concentration of wildlife.
From cheeky zebras and graceful lions to massive rhinos, quirky warthogs, and vast herds of wildebeests, not to mention thousands of pink flamingos dotting the soda lakes. This remarkable creation by Mother Nature offers one of the most dramatic safari experiences on Earth! 🌍

“Serengeti” is a Maasai word meaning “endless plains,” and Serengeti National Park is exactly that—a massive, beautiful wilderness of golden grass and incredible wildlife. It is truly one of the most spectacular safari destinations in Africa! We’ve seen lions, cheetahs, leopards, zebras, giraffes, hippos, countless antelopes, a huge variety of birds, and even witnessed the Great Wildebeest Migration… the list goes on!

They say the Maasai Mara is the crown jewel of Kenya’s safaris, but seeing it in person is on a whole other level!
The endless, golden savanna stretches as far as the eye can see, packed with so much wild, breathtaking life that photos don’t even do it justice. Floating past roaming herds and spotting big cats in their natural home made today an absolute dream come true!

Long driving day from Nairobi to the world-famous Maasai Mara National Reserve!
On the way, we made a few unforgettable stops:
- The Great Rift Valley Viewpoint - breathtaking, endless views across the valley floor
- Loita Hills - a remote, rugged region home to the traditional Maasai people. We were welcomed by Maasai warriors with their incredible traditional dance and song
- Tepesua Village - a sanctuary for Maasai widows (many of whom are very young) who cannot remarry, providing them with safety, support and independence. This inspiring project was founded by Ms. Helen Nkuraiya—a survivor of forced child marriage who was officially recognized by the Kenyan government as a National Hero! What a Woman, what a legend! An incredibly unique and deeply moving experience

Today is the day! Mountain gorilla trekking day!
We tracked gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest—and it definitely earns its name. Luckily, we had an incredible support team guiding the way: an expert guide, two armed rangers and three gorilla trackers.
The weather was completely on our side and the Kutu gorilla family was foraging relatively nearby, just a 45-minute hike into the jungle.
We were granted 60 magical minutes with these magnificent creatures, quietly observing their family dynamics and capturing photos in their natural habitat. Truly an absolute once-in-a-lifetime experience.
P.S. Fifth photo featuring our friends in the background: “In those who photobomb our pictures, we trust.” 😹

On the way to Ishasha, the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park, we made a wonderful stop at the Kikorongo Equator Line Point, marking the exact zero degree latitude line dividing the Northern and Southern Hemispheres! 🌍
In the afternoon, we visited a local homestead and organic farm right on the park’s border. It was fascinating to see how they manage human-wildlife conflict first-hand and learn about their clever, eco-friendly anti-crop-raiding techniques. 🐘
Another full, unforgettable and super inspiring day in Uganda! 🇺🇬
