Grid City is a project to explore the design, architecture and planning of New York City through running. Each month features a new topic, route and subject-matter guide who leads the group’s run and education. Runs are held on the second Tuesday of every month from September through May.

Season 2 of Grid City returns with new topics both familiar and obscure and an exciting roster of guides from leading architectural shops and related professional firms. Swipe right for the full calendar.

Hosted with designer Paul J Morimoto, Grid City (Guided Runs in the Design of New York City) explores the design, architecture and planning of New York City with monthly community runs featuring a new topic, route and subject-matter guide every month.

The first run will be a study of Artist Lofts and the SoHo/NoHo Rezoning, led by Maddie DeCerbo, Director of Urban Planning at the Real Estate Board of New York, on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at 7am. Register on Luma to attend (link in bio).

Runs will continue on the second Tuesday of every month from September to May.

Dirt City: Brooklyn Connector. August 2026.

Thank you for joining us for the second annual Dirt City: Brooklyn Connector and helping raise over $1,200 for the Natural Areas Conservancy @naturalareasnyc to protect and improve our urban natural areas and trails. The mission of Dirt City is to prove New York City is a place for trail runners and nearly 100 runners navigating four parks and 21 miles of trails (and concrete, sometimes) demonstrated this potential. Further thanks to our event partners, Neversecond @never.second and Wattz @wattz.inc —two New York-based brands dedicated to supporting the local running community and developing science-backed and performance-based products—along with the tireless volunteers and pacers who coordinated and guided this event.
