My Directorial Debut.

If you would’ve told me a couple of months ago that I’d be directing my first commercial from start to finish, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

Since graduating, I’ve heard so many no’s and received so many rejections that I almost forgot what a yes felt like. But when Kuan came to Andrew, Marcel, and me with this opportunity, I knew it was God placing something in front of me that I couldn’t turn down.

This project meant so much more than just directing my first commercial. It taught me how to collaborate, learn, lead, be vulnerable, and most importantly, create even when I’m scared to fail. After two months of preproduction and countless conversations, I realized that sometimes you just have to get out of your own way.

To @thatkidjohnsonnn and Marcel, thank you for pushing me, holding me accountable, and constantly reminding me, “Stop telling me these ideas and just do it.”

To Morgan, thank you for allowing me to bounce ideas off you, create freely, and have genuine conversations about life and our futures.

To everyone who contributed to this production, there are so many people to thank, and I appreciate every single one of you.

And finally, to Kuan, thank you, brother! When jobs kept telling me no, you gave me a YES. Thank you for trusting me with your vision and believing we could create something beautiful together.

This experience reminded me that rejection doesn’t define your potential, and fear should never stop you from creating.

First commercial directed, definitely not the last.
