⛷️🇦🇶 Day 1 in Antarctica with @iceaxeexpeditions skiing Deception Island. 🌋 While the skiing may not look good (due to the volcanic ash), the snow was actually pretty good, with huge kernels of corn. 🤌🌽 Deception Island is one of the most active volcanoes in Antarctica, but another interesting facet of this place is its history. The island used to be a remote whaling outpost for the Norwegians and British back in the early 1900s. 🏹🐋 The ruins from the old whaling operations still stand to this day, and you can feel the souls of all the whales that were processed here over the years. 😔

Antarctica is a mythical place, and Deception Island is one of my favorite spots to ski. 💙 Thanks, Antarctica. 🙏

Antarctica is wow 😲...

So many critters this year!

Thank you @iceaxeexpeditions for having me guide this one for my 11th time. by @miles_clark

🔀🏔️ Over the past year, @smugglersnotchvt has gone through an ownership change and a GM change, with many wondering how the new management views the future of this old-school New England ski resort. 🧐

🎙️⛷️ We sat down with Smuggs’ new GM to ask him exactly that, on the latest episode of the podcast. 💭

🇦🇷⛷️ Skiing some breathtaking lines at the very tip of South America in Ushuaia, Argentina, this week! 😍

For skiers, I highly recommend you come here one day. 📍🗺️ Come in the springtime (this spring it's a little light on snow), but you’ll be skiing above the Beagle Channel, the ocean passage that Darwin sailed through back in 1833 on his way to the Galápagos, where he then came up with the theory of evolution. 🐢🤯 Read the full report in the link in our bio. 📲🔗

💙 It’s a really special place. Beautiful scenery, terrific skiing, and the people are amazing.

🇦🇶🚢 Next stop, Antarctica. 🫡

🌨️🤔 Okay, so we’ve heard of the “Super” El Niño a million times now – the question every skier cares about is really: based on that, where should we ski? 🤷‍♂️ We asked our favorite mountain meteorologist, @chrisdtomer on the podcast for his picks and why. 🎯⛷️

👋 Off to Antarctica Today! 🛫🇦🇶

This will be my 11th time ski guiding on the Antarctica trip with @iceaxeexpeditions, and I will always be forever grateful. 🙏 Going on these trips has truly changed my life in so many different ways via the animals I’ve seen, the experiences I’ve had, and mostly the people I’ve connected with. 🤯 Skiing in Antarctica will always be a novel experience, and I simply can’t get over how fortunate I am to get to experience this place again and again. 🐧⛷️ The two computer screens are a little obnoxious, but I just became a computer coder. 👨‍💻🤓 I just created my first website, snowbrainsweather.com. Please have a look and give me notes! 💬 Thank you all. 💙

🧥💙 After 3 Superb Years With @elevenate, It's Time To Move In A New Direction. ✌️

🔄❄️ 3 northern winters. 3 southern winters. Alaska heli days, Patagonia storms, deep Wasatch mornings, Tahoe sunshine magic, Teton tubes, Alps faceshots, 300 ski days in a year, and a whole lot of dark, early skin tracks in between. ⛷️😄

To the whole Elevenate crew: thank you for believing in me and for backing an independent skier with a pretty damn weird life. 🙏

"I left the woods for as good a reason as I went there. Perhaps it seemed to me that I had several more lives to live, and could not spare any more time for that one." Henry David Thoreau.

It's time for the next chapter... 🚪✨

Thanks, Elevenate! by @miles_clark

⚠️⛷️ The skiing may have been rough, but that was no excuse to not get out there and get a lap in @snowbird this week. 😬

☠️🎿 Don’t feel bad for me; if anything, feel bad for my skis. 😅
