Mom, this one was always yours. 🕊️

You were there the first time I stepped on a stage in third grade, and you showed up for every performance after. You were my first audience, my first supporter, and the first person who showed me what unconditional love looks like.

You raised three “bad” kids on your own, kept us connected to our Guyanese roots, and filled your later years with travel, laughter, and a party whenever you could find one. You were so proud of Homage’s nine Caribbean Film Awards nominations—not only because we were being recognized, but because it was our Caribbean community, a community you loved, seeing our work.

You were right there with me at Guyana Fun Day, handing out Homage flyers and helping spread the word. That was you: always showing up for me, always full of life.

I wish you could have been there when Homage won Best Caribbean Film of the Year. You weren’t there in the flesh, but in my heart, I believe you were with me. When I said, “This is for you, Mom,” I meant every word.

Thank you, God, for her presence in my life and for letting me call her my mother. Bye, Mom. You are forever in my heart. by @milesmussenden

Still taking this in… 🏆

Our first independent feature, Homage, just won Best Caribbean Film of the Year—the top award of the night. And Majah Hype took home Best Actor for bringing Squeeze to life.

From the behind-the-scenes moments to standing on that stage, this belongs to the whole Homage family. Every person who put their heart into this film helped make this moment real. We’re grateful to the Caribbean community for seeing us and celebrating our work. ❤️

You didn’t just watch HOMAGE—you helped move it. 🙏🏾

Seeing our indie film appear across Tubi’s Featured, Recommended and Curated sections means more than you know. We made this movie outside the studio system, so every view, share, comment and recommendation helps it find a new audience.

To everyone who has watched and helped spread the word: thank you. This is what happens when people get behind an independent film.

If you haven’t seen HOMAGE yet, it’s now streaming on Tubi. And if you have, recommend it to one person who loves a good crime drama. Let’s keep it moving. 🎬🍿
