Light in Southern California ☀️

My first visit to California was when I was 14. My artwork brought me there for opportunities, and it changed my life forever. Something about the golden light gave me positivity, motivation, a new creative outlook that drastically contrasted the way I shot in the Midwest where I grew up. That trip lives as a daydream in my head, the first time I was ever given a chance creatively. Each time I return to California I feel the gratitude of reconnecting with that light.

Eldorado Canyon in purple hues.

A selection of experimental shots captured on Lomochrome Purple 35mm film, which transforms warm tones into vivid purples and shifts cooler tones toward green.

Under the red moon 🩸
I woke up a little late to photograph the lunar eclipse the other night, but just in time to watch Earth’s shadow move across the moon. These were created entirely in-camera with the Fujifilm X100VI using the multiple exposure drive and my newest custom recipe built on the Classic Chrome film simulation.
