At the Lilla Frederick Elementary School, home of the Cabo Verdean Dual-language Program, I was honored to present the Prime Minister of the Republic of Cabo Verde, His Excellency Francisco Carvalho with some Kriolu to English Resources, demonstrating the work being done to support the acquisition and collection of the Kriolu language.

After many years, and many amazing community leaders and educators working to create a viable program, we are here!!

Yesterday, September 10th, 2026 the Cabo Verdean Creole Dual-language Program opened its doors at the Lilla Fredrick Elementary School in Dorchester to a group of K1 children. A first of it's kind program, with everything being built from scratch, we were excited to see bilingual signage all around us, in Kriolu and English, across the school and classroom. It gave a place for Kriolu to live and flourish.

Along with so many other, Team Mili Mila looks forward to continuing our support for the program as it grows by grade each year. Nu sta djuntu.
