Friendly PSA: Stop buying mass-produced decor when you can buy original, local art for the exact same price (or less)! 🎨

Back when I was a broke grad student, I thought original art was way out of my budget, so I stuck to the usual big-box spots. But that is false and lame, my friends. You can find unique pieces for under $50 if you know where to look.

A few of my favorite ways to find affordable art:

⭐️Facebook Marketplace: My absolute holy grail for cheap, one-of-a-kind original art.

⭐️Thrift & Secondhand Shops: Local spots are packed with incredible secondhand gems. I got this original crab plate painting at @next2newstdavids 🦀

⭐️Local Markets & Google: Search “local art [your city]” or hit up neighborhood pop-ups to discover artists directly in your town.

⭐️Google Image Search: Spot a pricey piece you love? Take a photo, upload it, and find accessible artists creating a similar vibe.

You now have no excuse to swap the big-box aisle for local creators and secondhand finds 😘 Your walls (and local artists) will thank you!
