A selection of my small still life paintings are available to buy as part of the annual fundraiser @newlynartschool alongside a variety of work by other artists too 😁 the proceeds are split 50/50 between the artist and the school's bursary fund to enable more people to join their year-long courses 💛

We've just launched our Annual Online Fundraising Exhibition! 🎉

We are blown away by the exceptional standard of work this year, and are deeply grateful to each and every artist who has contributed to the 250+ artworks available for sale.

Each purchase directly supports practicing artists and bursaries for low-income artists, with the income being split 50/50 between the artist and the bursary fund.

3 weeks in this new space (punctuated with other work and a weekend out of Cornwall) and it feels like I could have been here for 3 months! I'm reluctant to show much of what I've been painting, because I don't fully understand it myself yet (most will probably never leave this room), but I've been working from my imagination - letting things evolve on the paper, sketching and layering with paint, trying not to put pressure on myself...something is happening! Oh, and taking ever more photos of flowers and their colour palettes on my strolls 😍 by @milliewilkins

A bit of a delay getting round to this post but wanted to say a huge thank you @cornwallopenstudios for a wonderful event and all the hard work that went into organising it by so many people 🧡
•
It was a brilliant opportunity to meet lots of interesting people and chat about painting, creativity, and all sorts of unexpected topics too!
•
Also a massive thank you to another beautiful friend Emma @ikastorey.me for coming in to sit for me on the last day - I loved painting your portrait and am tempted to work on it a bit more, but also like that it's memory of that morning, so we'll see ☺️
•
The end of Open Studios also coincided with my last day as a @krowji tenant, which meant a big pack down (5 hours!) despite having filtered out as much as I could over the previous few weeks 😅 👍 I don't think I'll ever be described as a minimalist!
•
I'll miss my kind and inspiring studio neighbours, and am so glad we can stay in touch on here 💛 I can't wait to meet all my new neighbours just up the road @thelevelsnewquay - will share more about the new space soon! by @milliewilkins

The first weekend of @cornwallopenstudios has been magical! There are plenty of artists staying open throughout the week so check out the website for details of who you could visit - Krowji will be open again on Friday/Saturday/Sunday 👌
1. Set up my space @krowji_ (this is my third event here and each time I've learnt so much!)
2. Hung a couple of paintings in good company @thegrowboxcafe 💛
3. Got to paint a portrait of my friend Jennie and catch up at the same time ✨
4. Said goodbye to the last of the tomatoes and was delighted that two have found a home together! 🍅
5. Lent a pencil and paper to a young artist visitor 🧸
6. Started a new garlic painting
7. Popped in to see neighbour @caztaylorart in her very peaceful studio 😌
8. Framed a couple of garlics
9. Started a new portrait study in hot pinks to go with the hot weather
10. Wrapped up a couple of apple paintings who have also found a home together 💚
11. Finished the bank holiday with an evening walk to the pub through the fields

Not pictured are all the brilliant conversations had with visitors and other artists - many that have sparked all sorts of ideas!
