More Than Just the Music.

A huge thank you to @wheatusofficial for the incredible opportunity to photograph their set at @jergels on August 25th. It’s always incredible getting to capture their sets, but just as special getting to spend some time catching up with friends.

They’re genuinely some of the nicest people, always happy to take a few minutes to chat, laugh, and make you feel welcome. Nights like this are a good reminder that some of the best parts of doing this have nothing to do with the camera.

Another great night with Wheatus.

I just received AMAZING news. A Late Cambrian song, “How I Bleed” just took the GRAND PRIZE 🏆 in the 2026 John Lennon Songwriting Contest Rock Category! They are huge supporters of independent songwriters and artists, it’s a true honor and privilege. I also saw that our song “Together” has placed as a finalist in the same contest. Totally insane, I don’t really even know what to say yet except thank you! This is really validating of my often non-linear and counter- intuitive journey as a songwriter. Check out the two songs and let’s see what happens next! Wow.

Join Us in remembering the Rhinestoned glory of Dolly Parton. The world has lost a legend, and a woman who lead with her full heart and soul. Let’s gather to sing. To cry. To laugh. And maybe together - we can bring a small shimmer of rhinestone back to the world.

Please allow us to introduce ourselves, we are a band of love and taste. 👅
Pianos was such a great vibe, hitting our marks with @candyandthekidsband and @lgatp it’s tradition at Late Cambrian shows to call out each band member during the song “I Love My Friends Even Though They’re Dumb”, and this is our first show as a 6 piece! Can’t hardly wait to lay it down again! See you soon XOXO
Make sure you check our Spotify. Every song we played last night is there.

Wheatus have some incredible songs! Of course, they are most well known for Teenage Dirtbag, but their cover of Erasure's A Little Respect is an absolute banger and their whole back catalogue is all worth checking out (The Valentine LP has some of my favourite songs which turned 13 today!!), as well as new music soon 👀

When I was getting some quotes of the Wheatus members for the "Which Wheatus Said This Quiz" on The Full Circle, I saw a website openly describe Wheatus as a "One Hit Wonder" band in the title for an article when they interviewed them. I was curious to know what bassist Matthew thought about this and he reveals how he and Wheatus feel about being called a "One Hit Wonder"!

What are your thoughts on this? Either way, Wheatus are an incredible band and have so many amazing songs whether classed as a "hit" or not! by @millimilligan

As I'm sure you know, one thing I pride on The Full Circle is asking the serious, hardhitting questions.

That is why I asked @wheatusofficial bassist Matthew Milligan the most serious question I could think of... would he rather his bass made a fart sound for every wrong note he plays or would he rather trip over on stage for every wrong note he plays?

I completely got Matthew's reasoning on this very tough question.

I apologise if it was a bit too serious but sometimes we got to ask these difficult questions. Let me know what you would rather go for in the comments!

Have a listen to the full episode anywhere you hear your podcasts such as Apple Podcasts or Spotify, or even watch us on YouTube for more hardhitting questions like this! by @millimilligan

The Monstie Men are joined by Matthew Milligan (Wheatus/Weird Al-Gorithm Podcast) to talk Evil Dead Rise (2023), a movie that, at its heart, is about the one downside of owning physical media.

This week's guest on The Full Circle is the incredible bassist of Wheatus, Matthew Milligan! We had a great chat, including being called a "one hit wonder" band and whether that bothers him, his love of Weird Al Yankovic (which has led to Matthew hosting a class podcast called Weird Al-gorithm!), and answering some tough Would You Rather questions as well as playing "Which Wheatus Said This?", where Matthew had to guess which Wheatus member said a particular quote!

Matthew's Full Circle songs are epic, choosing songs from musicians and bands that have inspired him to play the bass including Blink-182's @markhoppus as explained here! I cannot believe Blink-182 and Wheatus haven't met yet 😱 if we can somehow manifest Wheatus Bassist Matthew Milligan meeting Blink-182's Bassist Mark Hoppus, that would be absolutely epic and a proper Full Circle (lol) moment for Matthew!

Available to listen anywhere you hear your podcasts such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and full video on YouTube too! Thank you for the support as always! by @millimilligan

Yo SoCal! This weekend 2 members of @wheatusofficial will be at San Diego Comic Con! @millimilligan will be hosting his 3rd annual Weird Al panel this Thursday at noon (part of his @weirdalgorithmpodcast) and @joeyslatermusic will be debuting her new graphic novella and meeting people / signing stuff at Geekscape booth #1632 on Friday at 3pm! If you’re attending Comic Con - go see them and say hello! They will talk to you about Wheatus or Weird Al or illustrations or maybe just the new Spaceballs movie. Whatever it is - hope to see you there! by @millimilligan
