I thought this would be another trip—
beautiful mountains, long roads, new places.

I’ve heard so many people say that Venice is overrated… that it’s too crowded, too touristy, or simply not worth visiting.

Honestly? I couldn’t disagree more. ❤️🇮🇹

There’s something about Venice that feels completely unreal. A city built on water, where every bridge, little alleyway and canal seems to lead to another beautiful moment. To me, it’s easily one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Most people come here for St. Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge and the famous canals — and yes, they’re beautiful. But Venice is so much more than its postcard spots.

Walk away from the crowded route between the station and St. Mark’s Square, slow down, and you’ll discover a completely different Venice. Quieter streets, hidden corners, local cafés, beautiful little bars and restaurants… the kind of places where you can actually feel the city.

Cannaregio, Castello and Dorsoduro were some of my favourite areas — and they’re often overlooked by first-time visitors.

So if Venice is on your list, don’t rush it into a day trip. Stay for at least a night or two. Get lost. Wander without a plan. Sit by a canal. Watch the city change as the crowds disappear.

Because Venice isn’t a city you simply see.

It’s a city you slowly feel. 🥹❤️

And maybe that’s why I’m already missing my summer in Venice. 🇮🇹✨
