Part 2 @_foodandfuel_ What an amazing day, @shelsleywalsh The B!tch performed flawlessly coming alive on the track, no drama (ok a little bit sideways, sorry marshalls, pants in the post) no oildowns, no overheating. A quick service before a 180mile trip back home the next day. Many thanks to the guys @_foodandfuel_ for organising such a great event (Next one this weekend. What do you mean it's still on jacks?!)
And thank you for the generous award from @custodian.club . A really nice surprise

Overdue update on our @_foodandfuel_ hillclimb at @shelsleywalsh . Part 1. Many months of prep work, changing diffs, engine out and overhaul (again🙃) with a mega large breather system for The B!tch. The Weber induction system was covered two posts back and now has settled down after much tuning and fettling. (Basically 4 toilet cisterns full of high octane fuel..) So after nearly 200 miles (no trailer queens here baby) we arrived at the famous hill....

Engine safely installed back in
The B!tch. So now it's the turn of the weber carbs (Italian toilet cisterns...) Very complicated with a suspected air leak somewhere. Last two pics, Blockley sticky tyres just for the Shelsey Walsh hill @_foodandfuel_ clocks a ticking down... Thanks @andrew.varney for pic editing! by @millraceengineering

So, with a matter of weeks before her debut @_foodandfuel_ The B!tch threw an oil leak from the rear crank seal. So out with the engine, speedy sleeved crank seal and a much larger big wing sump fitted. Back in the engine bay and...oh, the starter won't go in because of the bigger sump...
Pass the engine hoist...

Time to reduce even more weight and build a 1970's style climbing frame roll cage. The later has stiffened up the shell considerably. Weight saving total is now approaching 14st. I have no idea what that is in euros. But the sound deadening alone in pic 2 weighed 14lbs. Free speed....😎.

Continuing with Camp Freddie's weight loss programme a chance look on fleabay netted a genuine pair of original Empi seats in really bad condition (read cheap) so the original mini seat frames were modified to provide some form of a decent mounting and a few coats of black and JPS gold paint (groovy) and they were ready to go. Do they look cool? Hell yeah. Are they uncomfortable? Hell yeah.....

Yellow wheels...well you had to be a child of the 60's/70's to understand. I decided to build a set for Camp Freddie as nothing like the old ones are made anymore. Using new Wellers the centre was cut out and old Mini centres welded in. A lot of work but sometimes time is irrelevant if you want something bad enough. Many thanks to Gary Appleton for use of his lathe and knowledge and of course North Hants Tyres for fitting the tyres. (No one fits tyres like these guys).

Everyone knows the legend of Tina The B!tch! She's cut, burnt and even electrocuted me on occasions. Chosen to be the wedding transport for for my eldest son Christian and his lovely lady Georgia, Tina decided to throw a bearing and need an engine rebuild two weeks before. Luckily the crank was intact and following a speedy delivery of parts from @burton_power the Piper Crossflow was duly rebuilt in time for the great day. Congratulations to Georgia and Christian! Much love from us all. .

Nathys Second Dan presentation day. What a fantastic achievement by everyone on the course and throughout all their training over the years leading to that week long grading. Second dan and above require a different mindset, in that the student largely is responsible for his own drive to train and achieve that goal. Second dan. Second step. That said it wouldn't have been possible without Sempai Clive and the students of @hindheadkarate and of course @busen_martial_arts and the amazing @busen_martial_arts_trust . I am always bowled over by the amazing achievement of of the Seiki Juku Karate organisation in its ability to continue to grow in this blighted red-tape age we live in! Thanks also @mjn_karate_clubs for the excellent photos! There's loads...although photoshop might be an idea Scott next time to stop me looking like Victor Meldrew. I also mastered the coffee machine whilst there without actually breaking it. (OK so it needed a bit of work after but I don't think I was entirely to blame..).
