About time for another one of these! For those who are new here, or don’t know me as well, here’s a little snapshot!
I’m an artist and illustrator living in the cold north, and also probably qualify as a nerd, despite my clear inability to play any video game well (just ask my friends). I love music and art, and also use hyperbole a lot (just ask my family) but it’s just cause I have a big squishy heart.
I’d love to get to know some of you as well! What are some of your favorite animated movies, or video games? SHARE!! I’m looking forward to getting further into the art community in the coming year and meeting more and more people!

Ever wonder if the surrounding nations wondered what mystical force could have parted a sea? Or if it was even possible? Yet the Israelites walked on dry ground rescued from slavery, and the Egyptian forces were drowned in the aftermath. They soon learned that Rescue had come from the LORD, and that He’d also promised the land of Canaan to them. Give or take 40 years or so… nothing mystical about that.

I liked how this one turned out. Very fun. I was inspired by our recent walk through the Book of Joshua and some friend’s recommendation to watch The House of David. Anyone else seen it?

Hi hello I live, and i’m having fun messing around with some ink again. My camera refused to focus lol, but ima try to post some of the art I’ve backlogged, and catch whoever’s interested in some of the creative things I’ve been up to in the smallest bits of my time I can dedicate to art!
Is anyone else trying anything new this year when it comes to this challenge? I’ve pulled out my liquid India ink and have added it in the background like watercolor. Thanks to @loveinthelovingcups for the inspo and a whole lot more.

In the last year, I have often found myself asking the question this song poses: is this what it means to be alive? For life is often full of both the bitter and sweet; the ugly and beautiful; the wonderful and awful. It can be a confusing mess, especially when I continue to fruitlessly expect life to follow some consistency, and my whole being longs for goodness all the time. Yet, there is often this ‘both’ in life, in the sense that we often must keep going, keep trusting, keep hoping, in dark valleys and moonless nights.
What I can say, for all life offers however, is that even when I’m tired and weak and empty, He is not. He is still good, still working, still strong. Still carrying me, still revealing Himself, still helping me grow. Still carrying my heart in His hands, and indeed, the whole world.
And maybe, because it’s for His glory, it is a gift to be alive. Pain and all.
Perhaps this is what it means to be alive.

Now, a few honorable 2025 mentions!

I gained a soon-to-be-brother-in-law (love you @snoworaidan! And we got a bonus @deborah.joy.cobb too <3 )
I began working just about full time as one of the managers at the dressage barn I worked at! Let me tell you, it’s been a hard learning curve, but it’s a rewarding job with some of the best people around.
KCF was a blast, I love my besties.
Jon Guerra and Davy were an experience. Would always recommend seeing them.
I took two trips with fam, both were much needed time for rest. You don’t understand how many photos I still have to sort through.
Atlas by Sam Bowman came out. It’s been more than a blessing and way of speaking in this season of my life, and I can’t begin to describe the ways God has talked to me through it.
I ILLUSTRATED MY FIRST CHILDREN’S BOOK!!!! This was huge. To see more about it take a peek at my last few posts.
I got a hammered dulcimer! Huge blessing. Just ask my fam.
The biggest change however was that my dear siblings moved last week, and my older-sister heart is just a little broken and achy, if so excited for the next steps in their lives. I hadn’t realized how much of a blessing it’d been to live with all of my siblings (I love them all so dearly); while I’ll mourn what is not any more, I will look forward to what will be next. Which is much of what this year has been. As the Arcadian Wild say, “we could never gather if we never parted, we who dance are also doomed to mourn. Let us keep the feast for by it we remember that our sorrow keeps us tethered to our Joy.” Love you both, and miss you already.
So, as I walk into 2026, I’m not making the mistake of thinking I have anything figured out, because I surely don’t, and have so much to learn. However, I am reassured knowing who I am walking with. As Sam Bowman says, “there’s so much I don’t understand, but I’m learning the purpose of man is to love you and do what you say.” And, “True strength is believing the height, and the length, and the width, and the depth of His love. Grief is a circle; wander round it in hope that He’s stronger than you could believe.”

Well, another chapter almost through, and while in the past I’ve taken some time to do a large year review, this year has been a little too crazy for that. I posted a total of like 7-8 things? It’s been a busy year, busier than social media allowed for. So! I’m going to devote a little time to do a quick summary of the year, or as much as has stood out to me from what I can remember.

For those of you who read my posts last year, you may remember that I mentioned that things had started making sense, and I felt like I’d been getting a good grip on life and how to manage it. Which, if you know God, that’s sometimes when He says “hah, I love you, but you don’t know anything.” Much of 2025 felt like confusion, searching, unbalence, uncertainty as I learned how to do new and hard things. But all the way through it, I saw the faithfulness of our God showing up over and over again, helping me learn to trust Him no matter how I feel. (“I’m learning to trust, learning to trust you, while I’m running with you in the dark…”). I’ve learned so much, especially through going first through Revelations, then the Sermon on the Mount, which was exactly what I needed to hear this year, and be convicted by. I can’t wait to see what I learn through Ecclesiastes in Church next. God is so intentional in his weaving and teaching of stories and lessons.

I even put together a playlist full of 9 songs that were especially impactful this year, for those who are interested in checking them out. They’re very, very good.

It’s been a week and a half since More Than A Birthday came out and the support has been overwhelming! Thank you all for taking the time to look and comment, and to share this super special moment with me. A special thank you to all who shared, and even purchased a copy for the young ones in your life! I sincerely hope and pray it can help teach those about our savior and just how much we truly celebrate on Christmas.
