I had the most wonderful time at the World Soundtrack Awards this week, as part of Film Fest Ghent. Especially the filmmusic industry masterclasses and workshops—learning from the best in the business—were invaluable.
Getting to meet people like Elliot Goldenthal, Jeff Russo, Martin Phipps, Natalie Holt, Simon Franglen, Carlos Rafael Rivera, Anthony Willis, and Jerskin Fendrix, is an experience I’ll never forget.

I’m overwhelmed by all the enthusiastic reactions the film and my music has received (and is receiving!). Knowing it’s being shown in dozens of cinemas across The Netherlands (and being seen by thousands of people!) is still an insane feeling to reconcile with. I’m so proud of this one ❤️🙏🏼

We’re on the radio tomorrow! 📻✨

Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of performing at @gentfestival as part of the ECMA Session, with music by J. S. Bach, György Ligeti and the premiere of Yellow Cells, a new work written for us by @milopaulus

Tomorrow, 1 October, you can hear the concert on Belgian radio @klararadio as part of Klara in Concert.

Another thrilling excerpt from the live-to-picture performance by the extraordinary @_ma.at__

This is an exciting passage from the end of the documentary where different narrative threads are virtuosically collided through Elizaveta Svilova's revolutionary editing.

Matching the rhythms, flow and energy of the montage was my primary goal when writing the new soundtrack to this innovative silent film.

✨ The enigmatic, otherworldly musical opening of my orchestral piece Pythia. ✨

As I am in the middle of a busy summer with three new concert works of mine premiering in Europe, I am looking back at this magnificent performance by the @antwerpsymphonyorchestra which I had never shared before.

The premiere took place on 28th of May, 2025 by the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Filip Rathé in the Queen Elisabeth Hall, Antwerp.

The creation came to be in collaboration with Musica Impulse Centre (@musicaimpulscentrum), as part of the SoundMine 2024 project.

SoundMine is a project that offers young composers the opportunity to develop their works under professional guidance.

The workshop concludes with a production week, during which the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra brings their music to life in the Queen Elisabeth Hall. taken in Queen Elizabeth Hall Antwerp by @milopaulus

The 14th World Choir Games in Helsingborg Sweden has just begun, and I am beyond proud to have written a new choral work that will have its premiere performance there, by the fabulous @amarantheoudenaarde and @johannes.dewilde.

This festival is the biggest event for choral music in the world where thousands of singers from more than 40 countries come together in an arena for a spectacular ceremony of singing.

French author Paul Valery's Tes Pas, from the collection Charmes, was a poem that immediately spoke to me.

The sensitivity of the text, the vividness of the imagery, and the inherently musical dramatic structure directly conjured up music in my head.

It is filled with mystery, anticipation, delayed resolutions and romance. Setting it to music for this special occasion was a real treat.

Thrilled to finally be able share the complete original soundtrack album. The response to the singles these last few months has been incredible so far, so I can't wait for everyone to be able to listen to the whole thing.

Still thinking about the concert 2 weeks ago where the members of @_ma.at__ premiered (live to picture!) my new original film soundtrack for Dziga Vertov's monumental silent film, Man with a Movie Camera from 1929.

This has long been one of my favourite films, and is frequently cited as one of the best, and most influential (silent) films of all time, so composing a new soundtrack for it was a real passion project, but also came with its challenges.

The innovative camera movements, and relentless pace of the editing formed the basis for my approach to the music: I treated the choreography of the camera and the editing as if I was accompanying a ballet dancer on stage.

@griet_wiame, @katrien.d.m and @violinde_ truly gave heroic performances of this very challenging piece of music. They were accompanied by @mchl_pnsn 's technical engineering wizardry, balancing all the live elements with the pre-recorded electronica and sound effects during the concert.

This piece actually has a crazy 15/8 time signature, and yes, it was really necessary, trust me. 😅 But it was written in 5/8 to help a bit with the readability for the performers.

No, but seriously, @imago_latens killed it singing this weird and wonderful track from my upcoming original video game soundtrack "Akkira's Ascension: Dawn of Darkness".

Peter and Tom also added some gorgeous violin and cello lines to it, but for this track, Imago is truly the star of the show.

This single called "Akkira's Aria" is the dramatic farewell song the main villain of the game sings during the player's last level before the epic final boss fight starts.

I cannot wait to share the full album with you all next month, but in the mean time, the first three singles are now available to stream wherever you find music. by @milopaulus

Fun fact about this theme: It uses all 12 notes from the chromatic scale as the basis of this melody, yet with colourful harmonies and strategic orchestration, it becomes a pleasantly mysterious sound.

@imago_latens, @severnduo, and @voronov_peter and absolutely killed it performing these weird melodies.
