Well, actually Mum flew to Paris yesterday to see a friend off. I was quite confused when she disappeared through the security gate at the airport. But I’m with her, just like in my book, where I travel through the universes…

Mom and I found two beer crates.
One empty. One half-full.
A collector walked over.
“Are these yours?”
No. Thank you for taking them.

Then the Isar.
Sun out. Fish jumping.
Water cold enough to make a point.
I went in anyway.
Several times.

The leaves are changing.
The grass is going pale.
The river is doing what it does.

Good season to all of you!

Last day of summer? That means a party for those who finish work in the late afternoon. Loud reggae—which I’ve replaced with ska—because it feels like Jamaica. In the background, you might still hear the actual sound, interrupted by my splashing and the crows. Enjoy the balmy evening!

Indian summer vibe

Wind swept across Lake Starnberg as my hoomans tossed my ball from the boat. I chased it through the waves, paws splashing and ears floating, while every gust sent it skittering farther away. Still, I refused to give up. Later, wrapped snugly in my bathrobe, I curled up beside my hoomans as the sun sank in a golden glow over a much more quiet lake. Warm, tired, and happy, I closed my eyes for a nap.

It’s not just my paws in the shimmering green waters of Lake Würm.
The mountains in the background are watching me.
I observe the world I’m swimming through.
The water is clear, the waves are gentle.
An uplifting feeling, happy moments.
But the calm is deceptive. I can smell it.
So I keep paddling—for the lake and for you.

Life goes on today.
A wonderful day by the Isar.
The sun is warm, the water is cool.
I swim and splash around,
then roll around in the grass.
The funeral was over the weekend.
It was sad and exhausting.
Now I’m back home.
But I already miss my human grandpa.
I whispered to him:
“Say hello to everyone who’s no longer here,
but over there.”
Now I take a deep breath
and enjoy being here by the Isar in the sun,
and I know: he’s still with us.

At this point on the Isar, the city ends,
without anyone putting up a sign.
Nature does as it pleases.
The river does as it pleases.
Here, I too am free to do as I please.

My paws find their own rhythm.
Stones fly.
The water splashes right up to my ears.
New friends beside me.
We don’t know each other’s names yet.

It doesn’t matter. We know the water.
Unstoppable.
Unbraked.
Just right in the thick of it.
Wild and beautiful. just like here, like us, like now.

Home again. Yay!
And back in my Isar,
surrounded by the gentle rhythm of the water.
For a moment, I am simply
part of the flow, held by its quiet movement.

Here, the world still feels a little more right.
And I hope Josie can see me, because this was our favorite place to be together.

Maybe, today, I’m swimming for both of us.

A little later I was sitting on the floor
The couch was occupied by a siamese
who judged my curiosity
My friend just shrugged and whispered,
