Wrapping up his first regional tour across Amman, Damascus, and Beirut, Rumman is thrilled to welcome Ram Sleibi (a.k.a. @bittermouthfeel) to Tripoli, on Sunday, August 2nd.

#NewNoise: Pioneering Palestinian rap star The Synaptik delivers a masterclass in dark humour with his latest single, ‘Thawili’. Tackling the hyper-specific frictions of navigating checkpoints and daily life under occupation, the track transforms intense personal realities into an unexpectedly infectious, bounce-driven anthem. Released via Milq Records, the release highlights once again how adept The Synaptik is at using irony as a powerful storytelling vehicle.

Produced by Dodongull, ‘Thawili’ opens with an intricate synth landscape rooted in a retro-futuristic aesthetic. The groove then takes shape with a bass performance by Khaled Omran, injecting a tactile warmth beneath the song’s rhythmic electronic pulse. Driven by punchy electronic drums and polished with a crisp mix and master by Mahib Sleat, the instrumental builds a glossy, danceable canvas that subverts the heavy themes embedded in the writing.

Lyrically, The Synaptik leans into deadpan sarcasm, recounting tense military interrogations, derailed errands, and GPS failures with the calm exasperation of someone who has lived the routine a thousand times. He trades raw aggression for sharp, sardonic storytelling, delivering smooth, conversational flows that make the surreal weight of the lyrics hit even harder.

The track is paired with a music video directed by Nasser ‘Chyno’ Shorbaji, which translates this tension onto the screen. Leaning into the story’s roadside narrative, the visual depicts The Synaptik being held up at gunpoint during his drive home, while performing as an impromptu light show breaks out from the headlights of the detained vehicles lined up behind him.
