I’m so honored to share with you my most recent arrangement of Shenandoah.

If you aren’t familiar with this folk song, at its heart, this piece is about longing and yearning for someone or something just beyond your reach. However you choose to interpret it, whether it’s as the story of a river trader, a love separated by distance, or the ache of saying goodbye, Shenandoah carries a quiet kind of heartbreak. Even still, there’s hope. Every musical decision was made in service of the text. Every dissonance, release, articulation… every moment of silence was intended to tell the story just a little more deeply.

I am so incredibly grateful to these singers for the vulnerability and artistry they brought to this music. Hearing something that once existed only in my imagination come alive with such beauty is a gift I’ll never take for granted.

Thank you for giving this arrangement the justice it deserves. 🤍

25 taught me a lot about myself. I pushed past my limits, grew in ways i never expected, worked hard, laughed, cried, and even recently experienced the loss of a dear friend.

26 comes with some heaviness, but also with gratitude for the people who continue to love me, uplift me, and remind me of the good that still exists. i’m overwhelmed by the love of all the beautiful people in my life.
