I’ve spent the last four months in the studio building time machines.
Just kidding, they’re just clocks. 🕰️
In Ancient Greek, chronos refers to chronological, sequential time. Kairos, signifies a qualitative moment, an indeterminate sliver of time where something significant happens. It’s what philosophers call ‘deep time’ or ‘alive time.’
Spending hours in the studio designing and constructing these clay forms completely pulls me into kairos. Time stops being sequential or literal; instead, it becomes flexible and holistic.

Many of you been asking about my process of building the boxes..so here’s a video of the process!
Prepping the slab probably takes the most time in my process…I roll out slabs, cut them up into stripes, pinch them and put them together into slab again….
I finish up the process with decorating the box with slip and underglaze.
This box I’m making in the video is for a collaboration project with Sydni (@sydni.w.art ). We’re building a collection of lamp boxes together and it’s been more than a year since we started working together, hoping to share the final projects with everyone soon!!!

Been exploring the shape of a box in my making.
I’m inspired by Sama Vritti Pranayama/ box breathing. In practice, we visualize the shape of a box as a guide to keep us on track with our breath and stay focused. The box creates the path; it forms the cycle.
But a cycle can also be a cage. In p6 I’ve visualized what my mental state has looked like inside that box for the past while.
It’s been a process of discovering and exploring creative blockages while staying aware of the tangible presence in my studio practice. The box form is powerful… there is a lot more to discover.

First post of 2026 🖤 I spent the end months of last year revisiting small forms. I’ve forgotten how grounding the process is, from the initial design to the making itself. Hand-pinching requires so much time and patience.
As I am creating them, I’m hoping that the care put into the making translates into the objects themselves, allowing them to bring a sense of intentionality and stillness to a space.

Entering 2026, I’ve been deep in the research phase for a new project and I’m looking forward to sharing the progress with you all soon.
