Being blind doesn’t stop me from getting out there and living my life, even if things look a little different for me. I’m Demi, a severely visually impaired zoology student sharing a bit of everything: blindness, uni life, travel, animals and just figuring life out along the way. I want to show the reality of being visually impaired, the good and the bad, and hopefully help people understand that blindness is a spectrum and no two experiences are the same. If you’re new here, hi! Welcome to my little corner of Instagram. • • #travelling #whitecane #blindnotbroken #visuallyimpaired #sololeveling by @mimidelaaa
I am Loki, of Asgard, and I am burdened with glorious purpose. 👑✨ My shadow was here to fit the character 💚 image description: Demi poses in a detailed Loki cosplay against a golden-lit stone wall at night. She wears Loki’s signature curved gold horned crown, a sleeveless black gown, gold arm gauntlets, and a long black velvet cape. A front spotlight casts a sharp, dramatic horned silhouette on the wall to her right #imagedescription #halloween #wlw #loki #cosplay Loki and Agatha somewhere in the multiverse 💚💜 Image descriptions: Demi a close-up selfie with her girlfriend, Laura. Demi is cosplaying as Loki, wearing a metallic gold helmet with large curved horns, a green velvet cape, a gold neckpiece, and shiny gold arm gauntlets. Laura stands right behind her smiling, dressed as Agatha Harkness in a deep purple cloak. They are indoors against a plain beige wall. The shadow of a god 💚 Image description: A nighttime street shot looking down at the asphalt road bordered by double yellow lines. A stark, dark shadow of Demi is cast long onto the pavement from behind. The shadow clearly defines a wide cape and the distinct, pointed silhouette of her Loki horns. I actually like my hair black… Image description: A close-up selfie of Demi looking directly into the camera with a playful pout. She is in her Loki cosplay, showcasing the smooth, metallic gold helmet with its large curved horns, a gold neckpiece, and a deep green velvet cape fastened at her collarbone. The background shows a plain white tiled indoor wall. It was Agatha all along 💜 image description: Laura stands outdoors at night in her Agatha Harkness cosplay, looking off to the side. I want to see how many people who watch this video, didn’t know blindness was a spectrum and now have a different look on blind people 🫶🏻 This video took me 2 days to edit and make but if i wasn’t severely blind, it should taken probably an hour 😅 #blindgirl #blindnessawareness #fyp #disabled #defyingstereotypes by @mimidelaaa
Getting into the autumn spirit at the Pumpkin night festival for our anniversary 🎃🍂🪾🕸️ me and laura went to a nighttime pumpkin festival at manorafon farm and got so lucky with the weather because now we have a storm with winds out to 70mph! we had a great time and might go back for their Christmas festival 🤍 Image description: A full-length photo at night of Demi sitting on the wooden flatbed of a classic vintage green truck. Demi has shoulder-length brown hair, is smiling gently at the camera, and is wearing a dark jacket, blue wide-leg jeans, and black-and-white sneakers. Her white cane rests vertically against the side of the truck bed. The truck door features a large circular logo that reads Manorafon Farm Pumpkin Village. The flatbed is decorated with pumpkins and loose hay, all under rows of warm string lights hanging against the dark night sky • • • #manorafonfarmpark #visuallyimpaired #blindnotbroken #hiddendisability #blindessawarenessmonth image description: A close-up, side-profile shot of a large pumpkin scarecrow statue set against a dark twilight sky. Catching the first signs of autumn. 🍂❤️ #imagedescription Demi stands on a brick pathway outdoors on a clear day, looking toward the camera. She is wearing a oversized black hoodie, blue jeans, and a navy blue New York Yankees baseball cap. A white canvas tote bag with a red strap hangs from her shoulder. In the background, a large brick building is dramatically covered in vibrant red ivy climbing the facade between its classic white windows. Lush green grass spans to the left, and a tall green tree frames the scene #autumnvibes #university #ootd #blindgirl #blog Not a bad backdrop for a university campus #ImageDescription A scenic, wide landscape view of a university at sunset, looking toward the historic, stone-built University. The university’s prominent central square tower rises above a thick canopy of dark green trees in the foreground. In the distant background to the left, the silhouette of a smooth mountain peak sits under a soft pastel sky that glows with hues of light orange, yellow, and pale pink. Delicate tree branches with small leaves dangle gracefully into the frame from the top right corner, naturally bordering the evening campus view. #photography #ImageDescription A vertical, wide-angle landscape shot capturing a golden sunset over a calm body of water. The bright yellow sun sinks just above the dark, silhouetted horizon line, casting a long, glowing reflection across the still surface of the lake or river. The sky features gradients of warm orange, yellow, and a pale, hazy blue with thin, streaky wisps of white clouds scattered throughout. In the foreground, dark, silhouetted shapes of dense bushes and trees frame both sides of the water, while a patch of textured grass lines the very bottom of the frame under the dimming light. #sunset 🛥️ #ImageDescription A vertical, wide-angle landscape photograph showcasing a bright, sunny view of a green field with rolling hills and mountains in the background. In the foreground, a vibrant green grassy hill is bathed in sunlight, with long, dark shadows casting across it. A narrow, worn walking path cuts a winding line through the grass, leading up over the crest of the hill. Beyond the field by @mimidelaaa
A little look back at an unforgettable year of travel 🌍 if you told me a while ago that i’d be navigating new york, prague, tunisia, spain, and all over italy in rome, milan, florence, and venice with my long cane, i’d have been so amazed at how far i’ve come 🤍 happy white cane safety day! today is all about celebrating independence and the tools that help us shatter stereotypes and take up space in the world. big adventures, small adventures, and every flight in between each journey is worth sharing ✨ celebrating alongside @twoblindbrothers today 🫶🏻 where has your independence taken you lately? image description: Demi and her girlfriend smile and pose together next to a classic bright red British telephone box. I’ve been a bit MIA and i apologise for that. I traveled a fair bit over the summer and had slow days, my eyes deteriorated a little more towards the end of July and i just wanted a time to myself to think. I started back university this week, my last year and it’s already taken a toll, i still don’t have a dissertation assignment because apparently it too difficult to give me and laura one that’s aligned so she can help me accessibility wise, so everyone else has had there’s since may and i’m behind. I already have research papers to write and the week isn’t even over yet. now i have to take a core subject called science communication which is what i need to work towards. It is growing in social media in my travel, animal and blindness sector. I will continue posting and making reels time to time as the goal of science communication is to get the audience attention and get discovered by job recruiters which is my case wont happen but would be a dream if it did! these images are some sunrises, paddle board days, animals and just some pretty sights i came across recently. at the moment i’m not sure where i can fit streaming in if i can at all which i’m gutted about but studying and experiencing my last year in uni is a priority right now, i hope you guys understand 🫶🏻 #paddleboard #farmshop #lake #sunrise by @mimidelaaa
