The saree that I draped as dhoti was passed on to me by my maternal Grandmom. The beautiful tussar silk kurta fabric was gifted by a very dear Aunty of mine, Mrs. Shikha Rao.

The history and provenance of niramish mangsho (or "vegetarian" mutton), cooked without onion and garlic, is unique to Bengal, and sometimes overlaps with Bengali veneration of Shakta rituals and goddess worship. But it evolved in a more complex gastronomic context. And it is a good example of how Bengal's definitions of vegetarian and non-vegetarian recipes can occasionally differ from the rest of India.

This feature does not glorify animal sacrifice or one food preference over another.

Dia Mirza @diamirzaofficial spotted in a solid red saree with a tone-on-tone chequered blouse at the Tweak Summit 2026 @tweakindia last month, where she spoke about conscious living and sustainability.

You would have seen me earlier in the exact same style, only in a different shade. I had first posted a photo of mine in this outfit for a post on World Environment Day, 5 June, 2025 and again recently, on the occasion of Mother’s Day this year.

There is so much you can play around with, in terms of styling when you choose to pair a solid colour saree with tone-on-tone blouse, in any pattern, print or embroidery.

Like it is said, coincidences do not exist. In reality, it is alignment and synchronicities, which means, my styling ideas and creativity are totally aligned with experts in the creative field, and it certainly gives me a high!

Please do not block the way for others just because you are clicking photos or getting clicked in a public place. Be polite and make way for others.

On the other hand, if you see someone clicking don't just barge through, wait for a few seconds for the those clicking, to stop what they are doing and make way for you.

I was pleasantly surprised at the courteous behavior of the passers-by when I was clicking the photos in a mall. Everyone stopped and waited for me to finish and I had to quickly stop the shoot and insist that they carry on. The picture that you see of mine is one such candid shot that got captured by chance.
