Protocol officers are security assets.

But not enough people realize it.

Your seating plan, guest list,VIP routes, movement schedules and programme timing are not just protocol documents.

They can reveal who is attending, where they will be, how they will move and when key activities will take place. This makes protocol information part of the security picture.

This was one of the key issues I had the opportunity to explore during my recent session with Nicole Krakora @nkrakora1 on:

“The Critical Role of Protocol in Mega Events and High Level Security.”

Thank you, @pdipoa for the invitation and for creating the platform for this important conversation.

Protocol and security must talk to each other.

The question is: are your protocol teams part of your security planning from the beginning ?

Do the protocol and security officers themselves know it, and are they acting accordingly?

Reflecting on today’s conversation.

It was a real privilege to join Nicole Krakora as a panelist for “The Critical Role of Protocol in Mega Events and High-Level Security.”

Protocol and security cannot operate in separate spaces when you are dealing with mega events, high level officials and complex environments.

I’m grateful to Protocol & Diplomacy International - Protocol Officers Associationl for creating the platform and bringing professionals from different parts of the field together.

And a special thank you to Nicole for the thoughtful conversation and to everyone who joined, listened, asked questions and contributed.

These are the conversations we need to keep having.

Because the future of protocol will not be shaped by titles alone.

It will be shaped by how well we understand the responsibility that comes with the profession.
