A creative space for film, movement, and storytelling through the world of Mina Lo.

$#EXCLUSIVE: Mina Lo Productions provides an exclusive first look at ‘Ultimate Betrayal,’ an original dance psychological short film marking the directorial debut of first-time filmmaker Amina “Mina Lo” Kane. The film examines the fragile boundaries between friendship, desire, loyalty and betrayal, using dance to explore the emotional consequences of choices that can fracture even the closest relationships. The story follows Nia, played by Alysha Cauthen (@ilovelysha ), as a night of music, celebration and connection brings the people closest to her together. By the following day, shifting dynamics and mounting tension have changed the weight of those relationships, forcing Nia and those around her to reckon with choices that test trust, loyalty and desire. At the center of Nia’s world are Tish, played by Ayana Blackman (@gypsyyana ); Erica, played by Lauren Anderson (@laaurenmichellee_ ); and Mark, played by Wanyé Tate (@wanyeezy_ ). In addition to directing, @minalolifestyle wrote, choreographed, produced and designed the costumes for ‘Ultimate Betrayal.’ She worked alongside movement director and co-choreographer Brittane Goines (@_b.goines ) on the project’s original choreography. The creative team behind the camera includes Mario Johnson of Grey Hoodie Films (@mario.l.johnson ) as director of photography, Andrew Smith of Finding Inspiration Inc. (@findinginspirationinc ) as producer and editor, and Amber Quattlebaum (@dovely_ammie ) as first assistant director. Kaiya Watson (@_kaisunshine ) serves as the film’s music supervisor with music from Chris O’ Bannon (@1chrisobannon ), Everett Moon (@everettmoon ) and Jody Stiger (@nugo.wav ). At its core, ‘Ultimate Betrayal’ asks: What happens when what you want conflicts with who you’re supposed to be loyal to? #shortfilm #indiefilm #dancefilm #film by @minaloproductions$
