Baked two galettes last weekend 👩‍🍳👩‍🍳👩‍🍳 I just love how versatile galettes can be. It is quite easy for a strictly amateur baker like me yet there are so many ingredients I can use. The first one has a walnut embedded crust, and has a filling made with fresh figs, prosciutto shards and candied walnuts on a bed of cream cheese infused with lemon and sea salt. I made another one with black grapes roasted with rosemary and olive oil and layered with herbed cream cheese. I made everything by hand, as I’m still too busy (or lazy, more like) to read the instruction manual of my new food processor. The crisp and flaky crust, especially when fresh from the oven or heated in a toaster oven until piping hot, tastes like soft biscuits. I’ve been too busy to do any tablescaping lately, but not too busy to experiment in the kitchen. Here is my rustic plum galette, glazed with orange marmalade and with an underlayer of ground pistachios. Yum yum 😋😋😋 I need to master the recipe so I can serve it to my guests!!! by @minamins85

My husband’s dragonfruit in bloom. Dragonfruit flowers are called “Queen of the Night” or “Moonflower” because of their nocturnal nature. Each blossom lasts for a single night, opening around sunset and completely wilting the following morning until it drops and a fruit begins to grow. by @minamins85

What a whirlwind of activities it has been since last week, with the graduation of my eldest @anchoresaway from law school. It starred with a dinner we hosted at a bar for his original batchmates, then the Robing and Recognition Ceremonies at San Beda University. The graduates were warmly and boisterously greeted by their friends and schoolmates in the traditional send-off which was truly memorable. This was followed by the university-wide graduation ceremonies and baccalaurate mass at the Philippine International Convention Center. We had a late family dinner afterwards, and on Sunday, Jason had more of his bosom friends over for merienda cena. So much to be thankful for, as today we also celebrated his birthday. Congratulations, best wishes, and good luck with the next hurdle, my Giraffe, as you fulfill your dream of becoming a lawyer. We are all behind you! by @minamins85

Presenting my 𝔽𝕦𝕟 𝕚𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕊𝕦𝕟 𝕋𝕒𝕓𝕝𝕖𝕤𝕔𝕒𝕡𝕖:

I'm still feeling La Dolce Vita and Amalfi Coast vibes with all these beautiful lemons that are so refreshing to the eyes!

This time around I layered my lemon-themed china with my favorite green wares and complemented them with fresh lemons and the brightest yellow gerberas I could find. They remind me of sunflowers , tee hee🌻😊🌻😊🌻. I also had the opportunity to debut my lemon-motif linen runner and placemats, which are part of my stash from San Gimignano.

I hope this brings you a lot of inspiration for summer gatherings with your bellissima e bellissimo friends and loved ones!

Found this wonderful stall selling ceramic grater plates from @evergrate.de at the Easter Market in Schonbrunn Palace last spring. What a delightful discovery! Now I use two of them to grate garlic and cucumber to make my own tzatziki, and I’m excited to try other recipes ☺️☺️☺️ #graterplate #graterplates by @minamins85

The bright yellow threads in my yellow-and-pink handloomed runner (actually three placemats joined together) inspired me into channeling an Amalfi coast vibe with this table that I set for a dinner party I hosted for my son's friends. I layered my Blue Willow dinner plates with scallop-edged mustard yellow placemats and a floral Indian block-printed tablecloth. Our bougainvilleas are not in bloom but I was feeling bright and cheery, so I snipped a few yellow bell blooms from the arbor in my husband's garden and fashioned them into candleholders using glass hurricanes and blue and white bowls. Thinking of sunflowers, I set my bright yellow grater plates in the middle of lemon-rimmed plates. I expanded the theme by using cheese boards decorated with stylized fishes and Mediterranean tiles. My Spode Blue Italian pastry tray and teawares as well as assorted ginger jars completed the setup.

Presenting my 𝕎𝕒𝕤𝕙𝕖𝕕 𝕠𝕟 𝕊𝕙𝕠𝕣𝕖 𝕋𝕒𝕓𝕝𝕖𝕤𝕔𝕒𝕡𝕖:

Dreaming of Sand and Sea ... Summer is here, and I'm pining for an island escape.

I adorned my table with a linen tablecloth that reminds me of a sandy beach, and layered it with fringed coffee-colored and blue textiles handloomed by local artisans. I ditched the flowers and instead, created a centerpiece using my antique etched glass hurricane, a bone china sea urchin bowl and glass votive holders, filling them with sand and stones and adorning them with seashells, placing them one by one.

It was a splendid opportunity to use my oyster-shaped dishes whose luster reminds me of mother-of-pearl. I had fun playing around with their asymmetrical shapes, and went a little wild arranging them with my lovely crochet-edged napkins embellished with rings of wooden beads, shells and tassels. A basket of tropical fruits and some bright yellow lemons served as accents.

East meets West: An Asian themed afternoon tea with my boys at the Papillon. Our favorite was the fried chicken buns with tom yum seasoning and refreshing coriander. I also liked the mango sticky rice, served on tiny wooden boats. With three types of teas, the fare was all in all very filling. by @minamins85
