If you’re feeling anxious about heading back to work after the festive break, please know that you’re not alone. It’s normal to have a bit of anxiety about going back to something after a break.

If the feeling is less butterflies and more dread, it’s likely that your job is a contribing factor to your poor mental health. Some things in life are uncontrollable but there are things we can try and get a handle on, and that includes jobs that make us feel like 💩

Now I know that not everyone can just quit their jobs when they’re unhappy - I wish we could. But you must remember that there are millions of alternative employers out there that wouldn’t make you feel like this. If you’ve been with the same company for years, you might feel like you owe something to your colleagues to stay around and tough it out, but trust me when I say that’s not your responsibility. If you’ve not been there that long, you might feel like you’ll br judged for swapping jobs often, but you won’t.

So what can you do? Acknowledging that you’re unhappy is a really great first step. Maybe start researching new opportunities and talk to people around you for honest opinions.
