Hi everyone!
I have so many new followers, so I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Shannon Louise, and I am the creator of Mindful Marrow. I make pieces from a variety of animal bones and other items found in nature by myself and my partner, Kenny.

I started this journey in the spring of this year, making a few suncatchers from deer jaws we found in the woods. And that was really it.

Then my mom passed away in June. I didn’t know how to process my grief, so I dove into creating and started collecting more bones. It has been a weirdly strange and comforting way to express myself and help process my loss.

Over the years, I’ve bought skulls and oddities for our home, but I never imagined myself doing the work. And work it is! It’s time-consuming, smelly, and frustrating, but also incredibly rewarding to honor the animals they once belonged to.

Mindful Marrow is a hobby first and a side hustle second. It’s not about making money for me; it’s about being able to express myself and selling enough to continue making more. This is all very new to me, and it’s not always perfect, but I am learning as I go.

I appreciate all of you who follow along, like my posts and stories, and purchase my work. You are the reason I can continue to do this.

Thank you for your continued support on my journey.
