It’s YOUR DAY to take the stage! 🕺🏿💃🏽⭐️

Today is October 8th - and it’s DAF Day, the national day of giving through Donor-Advised Funds. With more than $326 billion in charitable assets held in DAFs today, this form of giving provides a tremendous opportunity for donors to support the nonprofit organizations they care about most in a convenient and streamlined way. According to a recent study conducted by Bank of America, “current DAF users cite strong benefits, particularly the ability to invest assets for tax-free growth (98%), maximize tax benefits (96%), and simplify charitable giving (94%).”

If you have a DAF, consider making a tax deductible gift to MindLeaps TODAY to keep our 2,600 kids dancing around the world. Link in bio!

SMALL STAGE - BIG HEARTS…This is the name that our students chose for their monthly public talent show in Uganda! In Oruchinga Refugee Settlement, a place where 8,000 refugees live, MindLeaps runs a program for 150 children annually. Part of that program fosters children’s creativity and self-expression. Check out what happens when teachers step aside and kids take the stage to show their talent and courage…

Technology is changing the way we learn, work, and connect, and young people deserve the opportunity to be part of that future.

But across Africa, significant digital skills gaps remain. ICDL reports that around 90% of children in Africa leave school without basic digital skills, while only 50% of African countries include computer skills in their school curricula.

At the same time, the demand for digital skills is growing rapidly. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) estimates that around 230 million jobs across Sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills by 2030.

This is why access to digital education matters.

Through the MindLeaps IT Programs in Rwanda, Uganda, and Guinea, young people are gaining practical computer skills and building confidence through hands-on learning. These photos capture young people learning, practicing, asking questions, and supporting one another as they take important steps toward a more digitally connected future in Africa.

💜💚Learn. Grow. Connect. Create.

✨ taken in Nyamirambo KIGALI-RWANDA by @mindleaps

Earlier this summer, our MindLeaps NYC students had the chance to perform at the @nypd Youth Leadership Councils event in Manhattan. Three dance groups were selected to perform while youth from all across the city presented projects that are designed to improve the lives of youth in our communities. Special thanks to @nycyouth for the opportunity!
