He is omnipresent,
In everything and everyone, he is present.
If faith and love is what you practise,
Even in the enormous mountains and among tiny ants,
He is present.

From Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 13 Verse 14:
"sarvataḥ pāṇi-pādaṁ tat sarvato ’kṣhi-śhiro-mukham
sarvataḥ śhrutimal loke sarvam āvṛitya tiṣhṭhati", roughly translating to:
"Everywhere are His hands and feet, eyes, heads, and faces. His ears too are in all places, for He pervades everything in the universe."

What is now pain is later poetry
The part that stays makes me suffer poetry.

The irony of expression is living
The one who survives writes better poetry.

I came close to her lips also because
I wanted to understand her poetry.

He lowered his bow before his kin
Thus was born, through surrender— poetry.

I haven't grown tired of my grief yet
I still fail to write any other poetry.

The ceiling looks ordinary,
The fan is still making that uneven sound,
The dust motes are dancing without shadows.
It all feels almost insulting, and meaningless,
I wake up in the aftermath of my apocalypse.

I have no past to reminisce and feel sad.
I borrow grief from the tomorrow I'm yet to live.
I wake up tired of things
That haven’t happened, yet.

These merchants of death look no different from you,
They too brush my lips and leave me bound to dying.

I am just a mirror in front of you,
I'll flip the image but show you the truth.

//You can't spell Live without Lie

I wake up to rehearse exits
How to leave a room without touching anything,
How to keep a smile without promising more.
The mirror doesn’t argue anymore.
It lets me borrow a face
The way stations lend platforms–
Stand here briefly but
Don’t ask where you’re going.

At work, at love, at prayer,
I perform accurate versions of myself.
They pass inspections.
They answer questions on time.
They do not ask
What happens to a clock
That ticks in rooms with no light.

I could be a leaf in autumn
Who had no choice but to fall.

But even falling implies direction,
A season willing
To remember your name.
I was released earlier, unseasoned,
Cut from the branch by hands
That called it necessity.

By noon I have lived
As a son,
A stranger,
A man who almost stayed.
Each life fits like old worn-out shoes,
Good enough to walk around,
But never enough to run.

I live a thousand lives every day,
And none of them are mine.

The night arrives without ceremony.
I hang the costumes carefully
With no wrinkles, no fingerprints,
Like a professional killer who
Hides the evidence with precision.
Every night is a case unsolved,
The corpse is but the killer himself.

I wait for myself like
An unopened bottle of wine in the cabinet
Closed, decomposing,
Turning more poisonous
And red.
The heart knows that
It only needs to pump blood,
And nothing more.

This is not me, or at least
Not what I am supposed to be,
This is someone else's becoming.
There is no real self, waiting,
Only the leftover damage
Of survival by subtraction,
Survival by too many correct performances.

And the quiet knowledge that
If I stopped acting,
Nothing would step forward to replace me.
