Somebody pinch me! I finally met @alhanislam In person🥹

@alhanislam please I’m framing the first slide😭 by @mindofhan_

Before the Independence day celebration, I was having this conversation with my Dad. And so I asked him; Baba, is Nigeria at 62 worth celebrating? amidst this ASUU strike, insecurity, hunger, and so many issues that have been a threat to us in the last decade?

And so he threw back a question at me.
"We have been whole, one nation and undivided for 62 years despite facing so many challenges" Isn't that worth celebrating?

The fact that we have been ONE NIGERIA for 62 years and are united is indeed worth celebrating.

And so, I dedicate this beautiful piece (down below 👇) to our beloved country.

NIGERIA is 62.

Happy independence day NIGERIA.

Dear beloved Nigeria,

A country once of hope of love of culture of peace, unity, and prosperity.
But now destroyed, by a fire that burns, a finger that loots, a tongue that divides, Armed Men that kill and kidnap. Our country has been shattered to pieces. When does it end?

So many have taken for granted, the freedom and peace we crave. I hear the battle cry of our soldiers every single night.
Can we regain the Nigeria they fought and died for?
Our flag has been stained by the blood of Ayo and Musa. By that of Ifeanyi and Asabe. When does it end?

In this time of chaos and uncertainty. I speak to you In words of peace. In the smiles of our Fathers, when we make them proud. In the laughter of our Mothers, when we make them happy. I know the thoughts of when things would get back to normal keeps you awake. Of when sunshine would emit its rays over these cloudy days.

I hope and pray our Motherland rises again. I hope the land that brings forth greatness covered in jewels of nature and the blazing laughter of hope would bloom again. A country so imperial and essential with human and natural blessings. I still believe that together, we can make Nigeria work again.

Once upon a time, I promised to love my Motherland, for better for worse. In laughter and tears. In happiness and sadness. I reminisce about the days everything flourished. We lived in Harmony as one.

Period poverty is not just a women’s issue. It is a social justice issue. Every girl deserves access to safe and affordable menstrual products without having to miss school, compromise her dignity, or put her health at risk.

We must keep talking about period poverty and advocating for menstrual equity until sanitary products are subsidized and made readily available in schools, public facilities, and communities across Nigeria. Menstrual hygiene is a necessity, not a luxury.

If condoms can be freely distributed and made accessible in many public spaces, then sanitary products, which are essential for millions of girls and women every month, should be just as accessible.

The conversation does not end with the walk. We will continue to raise our voices until no girl is left behind because of her period.

Eid-slay Day 4🎉 by @mindofhan_

One walk. One voice. One mission. 💜🤍

Today, under the umbrella of commemorating World Menstrual Hygiene Management Day, celebrated every May 28th, we stood with PadUpAfrica for the 6th Edition of #walk4pad06 to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and advocate for menstrual dignity for all.

No shame. No silence. Just awareness, action, and impact.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته,
عيد مبارك, تقبل الله منا ومنك .
كل عام وأنتم بخير 🥰🤍

Allah ya maimaita mana cikin koshin lafiya da farin ciki.

On this sacred day, we remember that true sacrifice is not in the act alone, but in the heart that surrenders to Allah’s will without hesitation. May this Eid awaken within us a spirit of obedience, deepen our reliance on Allah and remind us that every act of giving for His sake echoes far beyond what the eyes can see.

Taqaballahu Minna wa Minkum.
Barka da Sallah.

Still in awe of the incredible work being done at the Global African Women Sustainability Conference. What Efe Ukala is building and the lives being impacted is nothing short of inspiring.

Grateful for the opportunity to connect with such brilliant, purpose-driven women, and to learn, grow, and be stretched in new ways.

Already counting down to the third edition

It didn’t start with applause.
No stage. No spotlight. No guarantee that anyone would notice.

Just a heart that refused to look away.

While others passed by, you paused.
While the world moved on, you chose to stay.
To listen. To serve. To give, not because it was easy, but because it mattered.

Let’s be honest: Volunteerism is not a path of convenience. True development work is a grit-filled journey of long hours and invisible sacrifices. It is the raw discipline of showing up when you are exhausted, when the resources are thin, and when the finish line feels miles away.
It is, quite simply, courage.

And somewhere in that journey, something changes.
You realize the impact is not just in the lives you touch, it is in who you become.

Stronger. Softer. More human.

Because true fulfillment is not found in comfort or applause, but in purpose.
And impact, real meaningful impact, is one of the most fulfilling paths anyone can choose.

Thank you! @shieldgirls2women for being the SHIELD, the catalyst, and the hope. Thank you for the lives you have already transformed, and for the relentless spirit with which you continue to lead.

Your impact is your legacy. 🤍💜
