3rd Grade Chats 🩷
It’s testing time and teacher evaluation time….2 very overwhelming seasons in an educator’s life. I just remind myself that everyone is allowed to have an opinion but the ones that count the most are the little people I am molding into confident, caring, leaders. ⭐️ I teach with a purpose. I am blessed and highly favored.

Seeing my 7th graders from last school year as 8th graders (headed to HS soon) in their musical tonight was OUTSTANDING! SO proud of them! I loved it! GREAT JOB, Penelope, Ike, Matthew, Sage, Camryn, CJ, Ruby, Selah, Layla, Lila, Mackenzie, Mikey, Adenike, and the “shiny” McKinnley ⭐️ SO GREAT!!!! Sorry I didn’t get to see all of you after the show.

BRAVO to the director extraordinaire, Sarah Rabun (and my former students Annabelle and Addyson)

Students ended Harlem Renaissance Day by sampling the sweet and savory flavors of chicken and waffles along with red velvet cake.

⭐️ The Harlem Renaissance of the 1920s helped bring soul food cuisine to prominence. Soul food is a cuisine that draws from African, African American, and Southern culinary traditions.

🐴 COWBOY DAY - Part 1.

5th grade culminated our learning with COWBOY DAY!
We had a great time integrating every subject with social studies based content 🤠

☑️ We enjoyed a creative Boot Design Contest during HOMEROOM for art integration while listening to “Cowboy Music”.

☑️ We analyzed cowboy themed word problems with decimals during MATH.

☑️ We corrected punctuation and grammar from Cattle Trail text during WORD STUDY.

☑️ We read about women cowboys, black cowboys, and the Vaqueros during READING.

☑️ We responded to DBQs and TDQs during SOCIAL STUDIES and shared out presentations.

☑️ We ate like cowboys during lunch, bringing our school lunch to the classroom and sampling beans and cornbread.

☑️ We watched and learned some line dances for movement during recess.

☑️ We ended our day with rice crispy treats that we called “Hay Bales”.

See the next post for other things we did to enjoy a fun day filled with learning! 🐄
