This month is hard for me… always is… I lost my husband Cody, to suici#*%, and for a long time I drowned my pain in alcohol…so deep that I nearly lost my life too. But I chose to fight back. I quit drinking, I rebuilt myself, and I discovered strength I never thought I had. Now, every day, I live not only for me but to show others that even from the darkest places, healing and transformation are possible. I was holding hands with one of my favorite clients… We were talking about something else and involved the dates and it made me think of the date and I realized that today, July 31st, is my third year off alcohol… I burst into tears. I lost it… what an array of emotions I felt! But the one that I felt the most was an overwhelming sense of pride. Most of you didn’t get to see me at my worst, thank the Lord! But really, I’m incredibly lucky to be alive. Today I feel proud. I feel joy I feel happiness. I feel confidence. I feel love for myself that I’ve never felt in my whole entire life! So just a friendly reminder to anyone out there struggling, you can find happiness again… I promise! I did not do this alone. I’m so very grateful for the people that are in my life! The people that inspire me and motivate me to be better. One beautiful part about life, is that we are able to do what we want with our own selves… we get to choose what we see as healthy. We choose to do our hair the way we want to, our nails, tattoo our bodies, and we also get the blessing to dress ourselves. I will always dress in what makes me feel happy and confident. I was feeling overstimulated and underpaid! lol. When I get into nature, I feel loved. Loved by the way the sun kisses my face and warms my skin . Loved by the rock that ever so perfectly fit my body. I feel loved by the landscape and what my eyes are so blessed to see. I feel loved by the birds and the bugs making nature’s music singing me to sleep… the quiet… the peace I receive.
So grateful to God for the healing he provides to my soul.
