🌟 Our Journey with Autism: A Story of Hope and Healing🌟

Lilly is now 12, but I want to take you back to when she was just 15 months old. I sat in a doctor’s office, heartbroken, as I was told that my daughter would never speak again. This moment marked the beginning of our journey—a path filled with challenges, triumphs, and countless lessons learned.

I’m here to share that part of our story and the steps we’ve taken over the last 10+ years to support Lilly’s growth and breakthroughs. From what has worked for us to what hasn’t, I’ll provide insights on where to begin when your child shows signs of autism, sensory processing disorder, or ADHD.

Make sure to save this post, tag a friend who can relate, and follow along if this resonates with you or if you’d like to join us on our journey! 💖✨

Are you ready for some BIG NEWS??

Truly, this is a FULL CIRCLE moment

In case you missed it, a few weeks ago the company I was partnered with for 15 years decided to change their business model, which meant they were taking away everything I had built for so many years. It was heart-breaking 💔

When I found out, I was really grieving what was and reflecting back on the last 15 years. I am forever grateful for what I was able to do as a Beachbody coach for so long. I was able to be a present parent and live a life of FREEDOM doing what I loved to do… SERVE in the wellness and business space.

I didn’t think I could ever do this whole thing again, to be honest with you. I said I was done. But I decided to at least take the calls from other companies. I mostly did it because I could not fathom my team and our community we built just being over 🥹

Long story short… I found a home! A place that is truly deeply mission-driven, is stable, and their products are the cleanest, safest products out there, IMO. They are 3rd party tested, NOT filled with unhealthy oils, and are all nontoxic!

This is a big deal to me.

When my daughter Lilly was diagnosed with Autism at 15 months old, I was told there was no hope. I was told there was nothing I could do to help her and was told she would never speak again, and if she does, it would just be her gaining the words she once had back.

I did NOT accept that answer!

I got to work. I stayed up all night researching everything. I read all the books, read all the blogs, and joined all the mom groups. I read up on all the therapists, supplements, etc., that could help. I found all the best doctors that could help my daughter.

One MAIN thing that I learned is that Lilly was immune-compromised and we needed to reduce all environmental toxins.

We had to change our entire lives! We had to remove all toxic products from our home and food.

So when I was researching all these other companies and praying over which would be a place that I could really put my name behind their products… I had 100% confidence in doing so with Hugh & Grace 🥰🩷

I had the honor of sitting on a panel this weekend and sharing a little about my 17-year journey in this industry. ❤️

I’ve experienced some incredible highs. Built a multi-seven-figure business, worked alongside amazing people, and experienced firsthand how life-changing this industry can be.

But I’ve also experienced the other side. Watching something I poured nearly 15 years of my heart and soul into disappear practically overnight.

And I’ll tell you, that changes you.

It changes how you look at companies, leadership, promises, and who you’re willing to trust.

I’ve spent the last couple of years continuing to build, learn, and figure out my next chapter. But I was looking at opportunities through a VERY different lens.

So when Perga was brought to my attention, I wasn’t looking for just another opportunity. What caught my attention was EVERYTHING coming together. The leadership, integrity, science, products, compensation plan, systems, mentorship, and values that aligned so deeply with my own.

For the first time in a long time, I felt that level of excitement and belief again. ❤️

And here’s what really got me. Since sharing this on stage, my inbox has been flooded with messages from people who could relate. People who’ve experienced their own heartbreak, disappointment, and uncertainty about what’s next.

And listen… I GET IT. I really do.

I’ve seen the bad in this industry, but I’ve also had the incredible blessing of experiencing SO MUCH GOOD.

The friendships, the freedom, the ability to be present for my children, the community, personal growth, opportunities, and lives changed along the way.

I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything.

So if there’s one thing I hope you take away from my story, it’s this.

Don’t let one bad experience with a company, a person, a community, or even a season of life hold you back from all the beautiful things that could be waiting on the other side of another YES.

Because sometimes that next yes can change everything. ❤️🦋 by @mindywender

I said yes to this before I could even get my hands on the products. 🙏

I know how that sounds. But I’ve never seen a company with so much integrity in every single area. The products. The ingredients. The testing. Their vision, their values, and their mission. And they’re rooted in faith.

That was everything for me.

I said yes, and I haven’t felt this much belief in something in YEARS.

And now that I’ve been consistently using these products for about 5 months I’m so happy I took a chance and followed my gut because this mitochondria protocol is LEGIT!! The testimonial have been POURING in!

Now we get to celebrate! This weekend is a big one and I’ve got all the butterflies. 🤠🦋🦋

Let’s get to know each other a little better. 💛

I’m a mom first, always. A sports mom yelling from the bleachers, a special needs mom sitting at the IEP table, and a Disney freak who drags the whole family there at least once a year.

I’m also a high-performing woman with an ADHD brain. When I get into something, I go all in. That’s how I fell in love with biohacking. I started with the gut, because that’s step one for me and my kiddos. Then I went deeper into mitochondria and cellular health, and that changed the way I take care of myself and my family.
My faith keeps me grounded. My friends and concerts fill my cup. The Cubs have my heart, thanks to my grandpa. And date night with my husband is a must, because honestly, we just like hanging out with each other.

So tell me, which slide are you? Drop a number in the comments 👇

And if you want to know what’s in my daily routine, comment CELLS and I’ll send it your way.

This one is for my autism parents.

Hit follow if you can relate ❤️

Our days might look a little different from the outside. More planning. More patience. More quiet celebrations that nobody else sees.

One thing I’ve learned on our journey is that so much starts in the gut. If our kids’ guts aren’t supported, all the other good things we give them have a harder time getting absorbed. So gut support became our first step.
And yes, that meant a lot of smoothies with a little something hidden inside. 😉

What changed everything for us was making it a routine he enjoys. His cup, his song, his job. Now he gives himself his own supplements, and I’m so proud of him.

If you’re an autism parent, you aren’t alone in the car rides, the early exits, and the late night research. I see you.

This is a really big week for me, and I’m feeling ALL the things. Excited, nervous, a little emotional, and honestly, I haven’t felt this way in a long time.

Almost 17 years ago, I was in Florida on my honeymoon when I realized I’d made more money from my little Beachbody side hustle that week than I would have made working my regular job.

There was a big Beachbody event coming up that I had ZERO plans of attending. But we decided to invest some of our wedding gift money into my business, and I booked a flight for the following week. I’d never even flown alone before. LOL.

That decision changed EVERYTHING.

Over the next 15 years, that little side hustle became a multiple seven-figure business. But the greatest blessing wasn’t the money. It was the freedom to be HOME with my babies and build my career around their lives. Especially as a mom of two kids with autism, that flexibility was priceless.

And the PEOPLE. The friendships, memories, and incredible women I met along the way. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.

But the last couple of years have been some of the hardest of my career.

After 15 years with Beachbody, the company changed its business model and essentially fired us overnight. Just like that, the business I’d poured my heart into was gone.

And gosh, I grieved that loss. It wasn’t just an income. It was my career, my community, and something I genuinely LOVED doing.

I’ve spent the last couple of years finding my footing again and wondering if I’d ever find that same passion.

Which brings me to this week.

Thursday morning, I’m getting on a plane to attend a VERY SPECIAL event, and I have that same feeling in my gut that I had almost 17 years ago.

The butterflies, the excitement, and that FIRE in my belly that I wasn’t sure I’d ever feel again.

I’m sorry I’m being a little vague. LOL. But there are some big decisions ahead, and I have a feeling this could be another defining moment in my life.

I wouldn’t have chosen how my last chapter ended, but I believe God uses even the hardest seasons to prepare us for what’s next.

And here I am, almost 17 years later, wondering what God has in store for me this time. ❤️ by @mindywender

Friday night while putting Lilly to bed, she asked, “Football in the morning?” She loves knowing the next day’s plans, and we’ve been going to Lennon’s football games every Saturday.

I explained there wasn’t football this week. Instead, her siblings had a school dance. She asked what that was, so I told her Lane, Taylor, and Mason would be getting dressed up and going to school to dance with their friends.

Her face LIT UP. “Lilly’s going to the school dance!” She immediately jumped on YouTube and searched “school dance” to see what the heck it was. She was SO excited.

Then I had to explain that she wasn’t going. My heart broke. But in true Lilly fashion, she simply said, “Ugh, ok.”

When I came out, Joey and Mason had overheard our conversation, and Mason said, “I’ll take Lilly to the dance with me if she wants to go.”

I can NOT. HOW SWEET IS THAT?!

Of course, I immediately started thinking of all the things lol. Joey messaged a teacher, and within minutes she and the principal said ABSOLUTELY, Lilly could come as Mason’s guest!

I went in to tell Lilly and she was SOOOO happy!

Mind you, this was the NIGHT BEFORE the dance lol. I went into my closet, found a dress with the tags still on, and had her try it on. It fit perfectly!

The next morning she was so excited she jumped right in the shower, put on her dress, and wanted to start getting ready at 10am lol. She even watched YouTube videos to learn how to dance. 😂

She went and had the BEST time! She was dancing and having a blast. After about 40 minutes, it got pretty loud, even with her headphones, and she was ready to go.

I wanted to share this because being included meant SO much to Lilly. So often, she doesn’t get to do the things her siblings do. And seeing how happy she was to simply be included meant everything.

I’m so grateful to Mason, Joey, and the school for making this happen.

Lilly’s 1st school dance. New core memory unlocked for our whole family. 💙 #autism #autismacceptance💙 by @mindywender

DM me “CORE” and I’ll send you my free Mitochondria Health Blueprint. 💙

Your mood doesn’t just start in your mind. A big part of it starts in your gut. 🧠💛 And this matters for you AND for our kiddos on the spectrum.

About 90% of your body’s serotonin is made in your gut, not your brain. And one of the most underrated tools for a happy gut isn’t a pill. It’s fiber.

Here’s how it works. Soluble fiber feeds the good bacteria already living in your gut. They turn it into butyrate, the main fuel for the cells lining your gut.

Butyrate helps keep your gut wall strong and helps calm inflammation, and a calmer gut means a better line of communication with your brain.

The problem? Most of us get less than half the fiber our bodies need.

For kids on the spectrum, this hits even harder. They’re more than 4 times as likely to struggle with gut issues like constipation, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Studies have found lower butyrate levels in many of them, and if you have a picky eater like I’ve had, you know how hard it is to get fiber in. As a mom of two kids on the spectrum, supporting the gut has always been one of the gentlest places to start for us.

Start simple:
🥣 Oats
🍎 Apples
🌱 Chia and ground flax
🫘 Beans and lentils
🍌 Slightly green bananas

My mornings start with an unflavored gut stick right before breakfast, so the digestive enzymes are ready for my food. It also has acacia fiber, a postbiotic for butyrate support, and a spore-based probiotic.
Because it has no flavor, it’s easy to hide in a smoothie, oatmeal, or yogurt for the kids. (Always check with your child’s provider before adding anything new.)

Want the full foundation my whole family uses? DM me “CORE” and I’ll send you my free Mitochondria Health Blueprint. 💙

Save this and share it with a mama who needs it.
