You asked. You waited. We listened. And now, the new GPZ 8000 flagship gold detector is here.

This is for serious gold prospectors everywhere. Next-level GeoZVT technology reaches depths never achieved, with our powerful new Echo Sonic Pro Audio delivering distinct signal components to each ear with enhanced stereo separation.

For the first time, a Z-Set Concentric Toroidal coil range is introduced, including the Z18, Z17, and Z13 coils. The doors to greater versatility, new terrain possiblities, and a whole new detecting experience have been opened.

This isn't just a new gold detector. It is the moment many of you have been waiting for and we can't wait to see where it takes you next.

Are you ready for this level of power?

Out in the field in Italy.

A look back at the 10th Metal Detector Day, hosted by @geotek_center this October.

Great to see detectorists coming together to share their passion for the hobby.

Congratulations to Geotek Center on another successful event.

From hearing about history to getting out and finding it.

A great couple of days in Cheltenham supporting @romanfound at @cheltfestivals Cheltenham Literature Festival, alongside our partners at @lpmetaldetecting.

On Sunday, Roman Found were joined by archaeologist Mark Horton to discuss their book Things We Found in the Ground. The following day at @dunkertonspark was all about getting hands-on with metal detecting, with many attendees trying the hobby for the very first time.

Participants headed into the field with the VANQUISH 360 to search for hidden tokens, learn something new and meet fellow enthusiasts along the way.

There was also an opportunity to learn more about identifying and recording finds, with guidance from Kurt Adams of Bristol City Museum, before heading back for prizes.

A big thank you to Roman Found, LP Metal Detecting, Dunkertons, the festival organisers and everyone who helped make it a great event.

A glint of gold. Then a hand appeared.

Detecting at the Rodney Cook Memorial rally near Newbury, UK, Nick Berry picked up a crisp two-way signal on his MANTICORE, reading 14 on the VDI.

Turning over the first clump of soil revealed something completely unexpected. What emerged was this remarkable hand-shaped gold artefact, just 32mm long and weighing 1.66g.

Its exact age and identity are still to be established, and the find is now with Nick’s local Finds Liaison Officer for recording under the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

Nick tells the full story of the discovery in the November issue of @treasurehuntingmagazine, taking a closer look at the unusual markings and details that could help reveal more about its past.

410 detectorists came together for Krāslavafest 2026.

A full day of detecting in Krāslava, Latvia, brought together detectorists, families and visitors from across the community, with plenty happening both on and off the field.

From detecting and local traders to activities for the whole family, the day carried on right through to the evening.

Great to see such a strong turnout at Krāslavafest. Thanks to Ostecon and everyone involved in making the day happen.

What actually happens when you swing a metal detector over a target?

A metal detector works by sending an electromagnetic field into the ground through the coil.

When that field interacts with a metal object, the detector receives a response. It then processes that response to help you understand what may be below the surface through audio tones, Target ID and other target information.

The result? More information to help you decide when it’s time to dig. Watch to see the process in action.

Another look at Minelab 300 in Ioannina.

From the main detecting field to detector test areas and Minelab machines in action, there was plenty to capture across the day.

Here are a few more moments from Greece’s first metal detecting rally.

Thanks again to K. Vardaka and everyone involved in making it happen.

Competition mode in Prague.

Mistr Hledač 2026 saw detectorists go head-to-head, racing against the clock for a place in the final.

Two MANTICORE users made it through to the final, where speed, accuracy and quick recoveries all counted.

Congratulations to this year’s winners and everyone who took part.

Thanks to @lovecpokladu.cz for having us and for sharing these fantastic photos from the day.

“Brooch Boy” Iain Sansome does it again.

This time, Iain was one of five detectorists involved in the discovery of a remarkable late Roman silver siliquae hoard in Somerset.

The group recovered around 180 silver coins, representing several Roman emperors, together with hundreds of coin fragments from the site.

Iain was detecting with his MANTICORE and 11" coil, alongside fellow finders Dan Dawson, Daniel Lewis, Ed Wright and Gary Sturgess, during a dig organised by @ninthregionmd.

All of the finds have since been handed over to the local Finds Liaison Officer, with the discovery being handled through the Treasure process.

The full story of the discovery is featured in the latest issue of @thesearchermag

Congratulations to all five finders on a remarkable discovery.
