Now this is a model I struggled to take a good picture of. Shes intended to be Shyish aligned so I wanted to get an antique brass colour with green undertones. I think storm caste tend towards a clean well maintained esthetic. to convey age and dourness I wanted overcast lighting and a brushed rather than polished look. Antique copper alloys tend to show green in their patina, a bit like mortified flesh or moss growing on dead wood. it felt thematic even if the kit was otherwise well kept. There's a though process involved. This time that thought process did not lend itself easily to photography. I really needed to blast it from all directions with light to fully show the otherwise muted scheme

I'm going to play some Mordheim at the FLGS. I've had good luck getting used Lizardmen there so here we go. Fun thing about Mordheim, you can take a Kroxigor. I just so happened to have a couple I meant to customize to look like the Lagiacrus from Monsterhunter. you can see the shell shockers but I also added a bit of hood to his head, and some horns too

So, for this shoot (except for last) I have a nutral white light from above with a warm white fill from the left. I've been working on directional colour lighting and OSL recently. Red light is a real pain. but im very pleased to recreate the box art in terms of lighting not only scheme

Found this fellow in a local game stores resale bin with a chipped horn and some nasty gaps. I dont play much so finding a single interesting mini is Ideal, and theres not a lot a previous owner can do that I cant fix. So, I cleaned it up and patched the horn.

Recently I have been pushing really hard to develope skills. Making a concerted effort to learn is tiring and it rarely results in the final product being an uncompromised success. So today I decided to have a treat. I just applied what I've learned in a relaxed way.

This guy took about two days of work to get to this point. My studio has been packed up for the better part of a month. I guess a forced break gave me some inspiration. I love these old Demigryphs, I've had these around for a bit but I finally got around to dedicating some real time to them. I really enjoy the sculptural elements. Its a different balance of detail to new models. These are also quite stout. I love the crazy stuff AoS is putting out but I have a real fondness for these older, more playable sculpts
