For most of my life, I thought I needed to "pick a lane."

But as I've gotten older, I've realized that we're not meant to live our lives in categories.
Many of us spend years trying to fit ourselves into certain expectations. But those categories were never designed for us!

If this sounds like you, follow along as we build our community.

1. Walked away from a stable corporate career. Everyone tells you leaving a six-figure salary is crazy. They rarely ask what staying might be costing you. For me it was my mental and physical health.

2. Rented out my apartment with almost everything I owned still inside.
People asked if I was worried about my stuff. I was more worried about looking back one day and wondering, What if?

3. Used the money I'd saved for a property down payment to fund 4 years of travel instead.
Some might say it wasn't the smartest financial decision. Sometimes the best investment isn't the one that grows your net worth, it's the one that changes your life.

4. Sold many of my designer clothes and accessories.
It’s amazing how much lighter you feel when your identity isn't tied to what you own. Freedom became more valuable than status.

5. Stopped waiting for the "perfect" time.
The perfect time may never show up. I always thought I'd travel in retirement. Then I realized tomorrow isn't guaranteed.

6. Didn't change my standard of living.
You don't have to give up every comfort to follow your dream. But you do have to be intentional about what you spend and what you save.

Some people think what I did was "unhinged." Others say, "I wish I could do that."

Maybe your dream isn't leaving your job or traveling the world.
Maybe it's starting a business or moving to a new city.

Every meaningful change comes with trade-offs.
You have to ask yourself, what are you willing to sacrifice to get you closer to the life you want?

Are you willing to sacrifice what you want now for what you want most?

For me, the answer was yes.
The salary, the benefits, the status, the "stability"
I had everything I was supposed to want.
But what I wanted most was freedom.

Walking away meant giving up immediate comfort for the possibility of a more fulfilling life.
Four years later, I can honestly say that the temporary sacrifices were worth the long-term freedom and adventures.

✨️The biggest risk usually isn't leaving. It's staying in a place you've already outgrown.

💡What are you willing to sacrifice for the life you want?

Recently, I purged my closet of some clothes I knew I’d never wear again.

While doing that, I also found  pieces that I loved but I'd stopped wearing. I realized that after leaving the status of a "good job" I also left behind some of my joy for dressing well.

Fashion has always been one of my creative outlets, but somewhere in the process of starting over, I began dressing more practically and expressing myself less.

Wearing those pieces started to feel like I was "doing too much."
Why would I need to get dressed up if it was no longer tied to a position or an office?

Standing there looking at these clothes (and lamenting some I'd already given away), I  realized I had quietly edited out a part of myself... stripped away some of what made me, ME.

✨️I keep saying reinvention is a process. I'm still uncovering just how true that is.

💡When we make big life changes, we sometimes focus on this idea of becoming a brand new person. But, most often, it's simply reclaiming the parts of yourself you accidentally left behind.

❔️What's something that you need to reclaim at this stage of  your journey?

Trust me, no vacation is complete without a boat tour. 🚤
And Chicago might just be one of the best cities to do one.

Between Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and some of the most iconic architecture in the world, there are so many ways to experience the city from the water, you can’t go wrong.

I booked through @getyourguide, who work with the best operators and make it easy to explore all the different options.

✨️If you're visiting Chicago in September, mild temperatures and beautiful views are the perfect excuse to see the city from a different perspective. taken in Chicago River by @minettaarcher

💡I thought reinvention would be easier.

Leaving my job and choosing a different life wasn't an immediate change. It took a long time to unlearn what I’d been taught about success, worth and productivity.

💡I struggled to separate my worth from what I accomplish.

Most of my life, being productive made me feel valuable. I created a freer life, but didn’t free myself from the guilt amd shame around resting or feeling like I should always be doing more.

💡I convinced myself that my skills and experience only had value with a title, salary and company validation. However, I’ve learned that everything I'd previously built completely belongs to me and I can indeed create something entirely different from the ground up.

💡 I am absolutely the badass woman everyone thinks I am. But I’m also the woman who sometimes cries behind closed doors.

I question myself. I get overwhelmed. Some days I’m tired of being strong and wish someone else could tell me what to do. Courage doesn’t eliminate fear. It teaches you to keep going even when you're afraid.

💡I sometimes miss the certainty of my past life.

Even though that life was making me mentally and physically sick, there was comfort in familiarity. Reinvention gave me freedom, but I often questioned whether I was moving forward. I define progress very differently now.

💡I wondered whether I'd made a mistake.

I don't want my old life back, but freedom comes with uncertainty, financial pressure and more responsibility than I anticipated. I know leaving was right, but building a new life has been harder than I imagined.

💡Starting over isn’t linear or a clean before-and-after story. It doesn't  turn you into a completely new woman. Buy it does give you back parts of yourself once buried under responsibility, achievement, performance, and other people’s expectations.

✨️I’m still unlearning, questioning and figuring it out. But I’m truly enjoying the journey.

💛Share this with a woman considering or going through a midlife change. taken in New York, New York by @minettaarcher

To all the smart, talented, badass women looking for community, I got you. 🫶🏾

Four years ago, I walked away from my corporate job and the life I was supposed to want.

What followed was a lot of questioning who I was, trying to figure out what came next, and searching for a sense of purpose.

I’ve always known I wanted to help and support other women, but I wasn’t quite sure what that would look like. I’m still figuring some of that out.

But one thing I know for sure: I don’t have to do it alone.

✨️So I’m building the kind of community I wish I had while I was finding my way. A space for women navigating change, reinvention, growth, and whatever comes next.

I’m doing it publicly. And I’m doing it scared.

Because changing your life doesn't automatically change the way you think.

You can leave the toxic relationship, the unfulfilling job, the environment that's draining you and still carry your old beliefs, patterns and coping mechanisms with you.

I know because I was doing it.

Reinvention, isn't only about changing your circumstances. It's about becoming the woman who fully inhabits the life you fought so hard to create.

✨️Sometimes the hardest part of starting over isn't leaving. It's letting go of rhe person you had to be in order to survive.

💡What are you ready to leave behind.
