🌹 ‘WHAT’S IN A NAME’ by Lotanna Ogbuefi (@35mmlle) is a @womens_voices_now film festival selection! 🎬I am so proud of Lolo and proud to produce this award winning short, a hand painted animation which explores identity, memory, and erasure of women in Igbo history. It blends oral storytelling and archival footage to examine how patriarchal traditions and British colonization contributed to women being removed from family records.‘What’s In A Name’ has been featured in Frame by Frame Festival (Nairobi), Vancouver Independent Film Festival, Chicago Film Symposium and is currently screening with Women’s Voices Now Film Festival where you can watch it April 15 through May 20th, 2026. The theme of the 12th annual Women’s Voices Now Film Festival is “Forward, In Her Footsteps” The 39 films in this year’s selection represent 26 counties as proof that resilience is our superpower. Women and girls have always found ways to move forward — through solidarity, through storytelling, through the refusal to retreat. These filmmakers showcase this legacy and implore us to keep moving forward, in her footsteps. The work continues.#WhatsInANameDoc by @mingjoi

🌊 Honored to present “Calida Rawles: Away with the Tides” @spelmanmuseum ✨It is a fine line between vanity and celebration to acknowledge my contributions to this blockbuster exhibition. But my name is on the wall, and I am damn proud to be 1/3 of the curatorial team at Spelman! 🩵 (CC: @mizlizthebizwiz @drpcurates) Exhibition making is a collective effort. @maritzamelania was the visionary curator, organizing Away with the Tides @pamm. It has been special to follow Calida’s imagination from @auc_artcollective studio visit in 2021, to my fellowship season in Miami, to a nationally touring solo, and back home to Spelman College during the Museum’s 30th year. Thy name we praise! Thank you @calidagarciarawles for your service, vision, attention, example, love, and kindness.
