Bucket List: Ministry of Sound - check (Czech) ✅ Still basking in the awesomeness of the Big Breaks Reunion at the MOS that @stantonwarriors & @freefromsleep put together. We smashed it🤘I’m really proud of our Breaks Community. Over time many of us have branched into other genres but we’re all still rooted together via Breaks. Keep on doin’ what you’re doing ✊writing tunes, putting on events, DJing and hopefully we’ll build a new fresh scene making people happy & lively with our music. And to you the eager dancefloor participants - please support us by buying music, tickets and attending future events. We are all in it together ❤️ Personally, I feel very proud of my DJ career, beyond the creativity I’ve had to survive the patriarchy, DJ motherhood and still managed to carve my name into the underground scene, mostly thanks to you - my devoted fans. This year has been full of events that have completed circles that felt at times were impossible to complete but giving up after so many years of hard work and passion was never an option. What example would I set for Female Artists who come after me! Watch this space for more on this topic - I have some exciting activities planned for 2025 x Minxy #djlife #minidaminx #djmama #breaks #breakbeat #community #basshouse #bassline #life #fullcircle #motherhood #femaleartist #bmc #ministryofsound #stantonsessions #music by @mini_da_minx

My first ADE I only had 48 hours due to other commitments, so I had to squeeze a lot in short time. I feel like I just dipped my toes in. Amsterdam is such a beautiful city and ADE makes it buzz in multitude of ways. A great introduction to this phenomenon that is @amsterdamdanceevent Highlights (not numbered to pictures) 1. The Parenthood Penalty Panel I moderated - so well received 🙏 thank you @djjulietfox and @keleighjonelle for being such great panellists 2. Spot of Networking at industry mixers 3. Spot of evening events bumbling with my homies 4. Spot of sight seeing with my hosts Tiff & @thatdjheadfuzz and my homie @bobbikins Special thanks to Equal Beats at @alphatheta_emea for your support 🙏 #ADE2026 #amsterdam #ADE #musicconference #womeninmusic by @mini_da_minx

✨ Small wins, big wins… and moments that make all the hard work worthwhile! ❤️ A couple of years ago, I had an idea to bring motherhood and DJing to the forefront of the conversation in electronic music. With the support of @brightonmusicconference, that idea became a reality at BMC 2025. I then took the conversation to @wedj.show, this year we brought fathers into the discussion at BMC, and now… we’re taking it to ADE! 🇳🇱🔥 But the first picture feels like a particularly BIG win.  @carlloben3000 excitedly told me that my work has inspired the @amelie_lens cover feature on @djmagofficial . What a moment! The photo with the copy of the mag was taken at the brilliant @changethebeatofficial event last week in London @fabriclondonofficial, organised by @djsydneyblu - another incredible woman championing change in music. Brave to all of you involved in this event! Also pictured are fellow mothers and changemakers @justhermusic and @samkparsley from @inthekeyofficial, who’ve been helping to push this conversation forward all the way. And a big shout out to an inspiration and motherhood in music ambassador @djlisaloud ❤️ We’re making change together. And it’s wonderful to see the fruits of all that hard work, persistence and not letting go of an idea! ❤️ 🎤 NEXT STOP: @amsterdamdanceevent ! THE PARENTHOOD PENALTY panel  @📍 Felix Meritis, Amsterdam
📅 Friday 23 October 2026 - 4:15 - 5pm I’ll be moderating the conversation with two brilliant women: 🎧 @julietfox – DJ, producer and mother, sharing her perspective on balancing an international artist career with parenthood. 🎛️ @keleighjonelle – AlphaTheta, bringing the perspective of a mother working within the music industry. We’ll explore the realities of parenting in electronic music, the challenges, the inequalities and, most importantly, what we can actually do to make things better. Because conversations matter. But turning them into change matters even more. ❤️ #ADE2026  #MotherhoodAndDJing #WomenInMusic #dancemusıc #MakingChange by @mini_da_minx
DECK THE SYSTEM - 7th November at Bison Beer - Bison Beach Bar Guest Speaker Announcement 📣 Ivanka Selkirk, better known behind the decks as Mini Da Minx, is a music industry professional, international DJ, speaker, and advocate for parents working in music. With over 20 years experience, her reputation as one of the UK's most energetic and respected DJs is richly deserved. With roots in Czechia, Cape Town, and London, her signature genre-bending blend of Electro, Bass House and Breakbeat have made her a popular fixture on the UK club and festival circuit and beyond. With performances at Glastonbury Festival, Ministry of Sound, Burning Man, Beats for Love, and Let It Roll to name but a few, she is also a long-standing resident at Stanton Sessions and Mutoid Waste Company events. However, not content with confining her infectious energy to the dancefloor, Minxy is just as enthusiastic putting her experience to work behind the scenes. As the founder of Minxed - Nurturing Creative Connections, a creative consultancy and strategic matchmaking agency, she connects artists, brands, and creative professionals through values-led collaboration. By harnessing her lived experience and professional background, she is leading the charge in conversations around that ever-elusive beast – namely balancing parenthood with a sustainable career in music. She has spoken on industry panels at Brighton Music Conference, including a PRS panel, and has organised and moderated Motherhood & DJing at Brighton Music Conference and WeDJ Expo, bringing together artists and industry professionals to share experiences and explore practical solutions. We can't wait to welcome her to Deck The System along with you! Do join us on the 7th November, bringing any questions you may have for Mini Da Minx and get yourself booked onto our open decks! Follow the link in our bio! Open to all FLINTA DJs - see you soon! Charlene & Lisa x by @mini_da_minx

MINXED: NEXT GEN - WHAT A DAY! ❤️‍🔥 We’re still buzzing from the first edition of MINXED: NEXT GEN, and this video captures some of the magic. The panel discussion was fascinating. Every story shared brought a different perspective, and the feedback from attendees said it all: captivating, inspiring, sincere. Massive thanks to our workshop tutors @mynx.uk and @lisamariedj. Watching the joy of people getting hands-on experience was a personal highlight. Hearing that participants felt safe, supported and nurtured while learning is also exactly what NEXT GEN is about. Our open decks crew absolutely smashed it while the DJs provided the perfect soundtrack to a wonderful day 🎧🔥 Huge thanks to @alphatheta_emea and the Equal Beats initiative for supporting the event, and to The Volks for being the best hosts. 🎧 Learning to DJ... it wasn't a fail so shall I do part 2? Huge thanks to @lisamariedj who was so kind, patient and giving, and congratulations to @minxedagency for putting on a great first event... making things a little more equal in the music industry for the Next Gen is a great goal. Follow Minxed and watch out for the next free event. Obviously I'm an old gen, but having been asked by @mini_da_minx to support with some filming, I was super excited to join in. The panel discussion was very interesting, there were smiling faces galore in the DJ workshops and I loved jumping between styles and genres watching the open decks. If you want to be my part 2 teacher, drop a comment 🙌 #learningtodj #djworkshop #femaledj by @mini_da_minx
