My first #miniflatlayfriday These are items I have been collecting for a future project which I currently call ‘the fancy gentleman house’. The vague idea is a Victorian era pied-à-terre occupied by a young man of means - located in a fashionably shabby part of London. I’m inspired by my love of Victorian literature and will draw from the works of Wilkie Collins, Charles Dickens, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, etc. My young man is educated and refined, but he’s also a bit silly and full of himself. Having no real work to occupy his time, he is a career hobbyist and collector of rare objects. by @mini_shoshi

A little mini haul thanks to @minivintagemodern who acted as my personal shopper last weekend at a local NAME show that I couldn’t make. I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the lion’s head and can’t wait to get him into my next project. The photo album was made from a kit and I’m just thrilled with how it turned out. All of this was only $30! by @mini_shoshi

Having and playing with a dollhouse is so gratifying because you can so quickly transform and beautify a space. Take my little summer porch which is so unlike my real porch. 😆 And yet, like a real home, there are always little maintenance tasks to be done. This weekend I worked on grouting the sidewalk stonework (made from magical egg cartons). by @mini_shoshi

Meet Emma! I have been such a long time admirer of the beautiful handiwork by @alexandrasbears and have long coveted my very own beary friend for Twin Oaks. I was thrilled when she was able to resume shipping from the Netherlands to US. I was not at all surprised to find that this little bear was even cuter and more special in person. Alexandra wrapped her up w such care for her long journey. I’m just over the moon. This was such an unexpected perk of this hobby - meeting so many talented creators all over the world! by @mini_shoshi

Back from my London adventures, and these are my mini-adjacent finds. I had so much fun collecting Sonny Angels all over the city, but my favorite shop was the vending machine situation at @kissaten.uk which I stumbled by on my last night in Soho. I also love the little £2 capybara sharpener from @bubblepop.london Spitalfields and the fairytale house viewer from the adorable @niddlenoddleshop Crouch End. The mini Japanese Hina dolls from @choosingkeeping in Covent Garden are probably the only items that can be reasonably considered 1:12 but who’s keeping track? 😆 It was such a lovely trip and I’m already missing my daughter and my favorite city so it’s nice to enjoy my little treasures while I ease back into the real world. by @mini_shoshi

I feel a bit like I’m on summer break from dollhousing, but it also gives me time to just pop in and play/admire what I’ve accomplished. Tomorrow I’m heading across the pond to see my daughter. I’d hoped to make it to the York mini show but the timing is off. Hopefully I can still find some goodies to bring back for Twin Oaks! by @mini_shoshi

It’s wild to me that the bathroom has become one of my favorite spaces at Twin Oaks. I like the combo of simplicity and ‘lived in’ that I’ve been able to achieve in here. The tiny little details like the toilet paper rolls (that I painstakingly made out of real TP 😆) and the itty bitty toothbrushes and deodorant just delight me! #alisonjrdollhouse by @mini_shoshi
