Evie is in 5th grade now and she has her first locker. She’s pretty excited. She decorated it herself. She’s been putting herself together every morning and really growing into this incredible little human. Now if only she had the same enthusiasm for math. by @minimeevie

5th Grade.

I have never particularly liked regular back to school signs. There is absolutely nothing wrong with them, I just like to keep things unique to us and musical.

Since she is going into 5th grade, we chose the album 5 by Lenny Kravitz as her back to school sign.

Now on to the bigger deal…5th grade! HOLY. SHIT.

I don’t know how we got here this fast but here we are and we are going to embrace it.

We had the most wildly out of the ordinary summer. Most of it was spent far outside our comfort zone and yet, we made it. I cannot believe we made it.

Our lives are completely different than they were at this time last year and we have had to welcome in a lot of change and disorientation. But we made it.

I look forward to the structure, the growth, the rhythm and routine that school brings, and I look forward with gratitude towards the unknown.

I love @hollywood_schoolhouse and I can honestly say that it’s been one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Summer.

It’s only in our adult years that we talk about finding our tribe, but tribe is just as important and available to us as kids.

We have had a lot going on in our lives lately. Watching Evie make new friends and find her tribe has been the coolest thing.
