Just a guy who paints minis here in Middle Earth (New Zealand) - and tries to enjoy them at the local glacier!

“MARCH TO HELMS DEEP!” - Saruman or something 😅 I don’t think Peter Jackson and weta could have done a better job presenting the Uruk hai in the films than they did! Unrelenting, brutal and unsubtle, they are my favourite evil faction from lord of the rings. The tension for helms deep in particular being such a epic part of the trilogy setting the stage for an epic showdown

Ohhhh boy, been dreading trying these. Painting black well is so difficult! I saw a while back someone on here who did the most out the gate numenorean NMM paint job-I’ve never attempted NMM, I might make a vague attempt and see if it drains me 🥲

I have been all over film sites this week-but getting paid to do so which is crazy! Still a huge amount to sort out and get some sort of settling even close to the line, but we’re both gona be spoilt for choice for REAL backdrops soon once I do!

Ya gotta do it 😉 I just moved location from one beautiful remote spot to one slightly less remote recently…no glacier this time but where plenty of the real film locations nearby from the movies.

Will probably take me some time to get into the grove of things again in general let alone painting, but excited all the same to give it a go with a new job!

One does not simply scroll past ISENGARD! 👀✋🏻

Guess where exactly I took this guy on a hike in middle earth?👇

Tag someone who would let this captain lead their warriors of Isengard!!

🗡️I’m SUPER stoked with this simple conversion and can’t wait to do some more Uruk captains.

Been a bit of a hose around here lately so not the best pics we like from the outdoors (set to change, very soon!). My FIRST MORDOR RAT 🐀 👁️

Not much to marvel at, but I’m considering doing OSL lighting on these for the scene from Minas Morgul…initially I got these as add ons for ugluks scouts but I’ve got so many I might as well….you know…!

Wanna see something COOL? I love working on these nearly 25y/o classics! Even better, I love taking them along for treks (and in some cases painting) in the literal outdoors of middle earth New Zealand ❤️

The latest from the fires of all industry-x bowmen Uruks! Got another half a dozen to complete before I get back to some more fork tongued characters….

Bit of a trip up a ‘isolated’ area…started as a quick read but had a few of the lads on me as a just in case. Lucky that 😉

Finally got these home back over the ‘hill.’ Will have to one day have a go at a real Amon hen diorama some day, but good things take time…
