Can Black Mothers get an ENCORE??? It takes a special kind of support and love to fulfill and nurture the heart of a creative child. This was the story of Mathilda Dunbar, mother of the Great Paul Laurence Dunbar, Ohio’s most notable figure for his creative works in literature and playwright. Big thank you to the House of 10,000 Picture Frames for putting together this beautiful frame 🖼️ If you are in the Dayton area check them out! 👑

Installation 1 of 3 complete for my “Visions of Dunbar” series. I enjoyed the creative process from start to finish. I had so much fun painting this portrait of Paul Laurence Dunbar. If you would like to see him in person come to the Dayton Art Institute June 18th for the special Paul Laurence Dunbar exhibit. And big thank you to my brother in the craft, @caymankart for helping me out with this amazing picture frame. You came through in the clutch bro and I appreciate that wholeheartedly! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 👑
