AACC was thrilled to partner with @worldvision @worldvisionusa with #Chosen.

@minjason from @citizenschurchla, @bryan_h_kim from @ekkochurch, and @eugenepsim from @cegracelife went with AACC President, @raychang502 to Vietnam (to see the work of World Vision on the ground and participate in chosen) and Korea (to learn about the history of Christianity there and see the work of @worldvisionkorea).

It was a powerful trip. DM us if you are a lead pastor and interested in hearing about how you can have your church participate in making a difference for children around the world. by @minjason

As goes the leader, so goes the church.

In our closing afternoon session, we turned our attention to the inner life of the leader and the ways our presence, priorities, and practices shape the communities we lead.

Through a thoughtful panel conversation, we explored what it means to lead from a place of health, humility, and genuine service. Not simply doing more for the church, but allowing God to do a deeper work in us as we lead.

Because leadership is never only about what people see.

“There’s a difference between being seen serving and serving to be seen.”

SOLA gathered a group of pastors whose churches are making an impact in Los Angeles and among the emerging generation. I was struck by their love for the city, kingdom-mindedness, and honesty about still trying to figure things out.

I look forward to releasing the conversation with Jason Min (Citizens LA), Charles Choi (Tapestry LA), Josh Lim (Family Chapel), Jeremy Treat (Reality LA), and Tom Kang (NewStory LA) through the SOLA Leaders’ Podcast in the coming months.
