Ink Cartridge 💅
I read you at an open mic~
•

Ink cartridge cuticles
weep magenta on syllabus
paperweights assigned
to cyan servants
yellow yolk splotches
dilate key irises
handshake hexadecimals
color code
fingertip funerals

armchair machines copy
soiled dreams lay still
in echo friendly caskets
zoom classes unzip faux leather skirts
backside lips bit digital traffic
mask layers slip spiral notes to inboxes with
Gaussian blur
your gel pen traced waistlines
read/write cluster dialect
pasted visual hips
glitch belly button pomegranate scenes

I pluck bass lines catering moon beams
filter screen habits brush brows and lashes
you squeeze assets between thumb drives
cables output weave hugging thighs
asking if your diamond pinches
parallax studios
whispering tongues request penmanship access
beneath her ink cartridge cuticles

Cinnamon lips whisper audio lines
left behind
between dewdrop currents,
where your ink pattern shoulders
lean forward.
Her ancient frescoes
swallow me in a different time zone.

Here is some new shhhh / fresh ink for the feed. Another fun one with our dead astronaut lover. He is a consistent character in some of my other poetry works. “Voices” is the prompt for this month with the lovely @thistooisholy hosting the Poetry Exchange.

The extraordinary creative poet @sammiwrites is my outlaw poet this month. Follow her account to discover the amazing work she’s developing in the poetry scene.

Listening for vox signals out of reach, uncharted navigation stalls when distress calls prompt unsailed veils to change course. Several planets were destroyed by unknown energy pulses near the Lun system. Named after a goddess found on a distant moon within the solar system, Lun attempted to protect her people from unnatural phenomena, government forces, and Charunshdto, a god entity imprisoned on a planet in the neighboring solar system. Those who worshiped him, sacrificed many to unleash his being back upon worlds. The calamity and war has spread toward Lun, where our intrepid traveler chases a signal who is believed to be a star chart captain freelancer assisting citizens. However, our dead astronaut lover discovers the message is directly from the goddess Lun herself…

there is an itch
along chipped

bones
estranged
scotch
tape
s c a b s

r e veries
stitched silence

isolated

between
weeping cold

black lace
h o l d s
pinched legs
cro ssed
fingernail h e x e s
curse noir confessions

shoulder curtains,
tie collars
and elbows scream arson.

I used slingshots for armed robberies.
we flinch under nickel candelabras,
lost feelings crowded
beneath supernova tremors —
mesh abnormalities sweat
three weak corsets.

she said to taste
my butterfly picket fence
her tears never touch curtains
mourning summer
l e a v e s
soft innuendo between
wildflower telescopes

And she unraveled sigh
sweetness
untamed flames
where mirrors bite.
secrets were only secret
if you kept your eyelids tight.

✨ Meet the Artists ✨ Friday, May 8th, 5:00 - 8:00 PM

We are thrilled to launch our nonprofit arm, The Bibliophile Collective For the Arts, by sponsoring local artists in our community! Local poets Benjamin M. Sanchez and Melchor Sahagun III are joining the Art + Lit Walk this Friday. Each is a multi-talented artist from Stockton, and you don’t want to miss their incredible work!

Benjamin M. Sanchez has an MA in Mass Communication from University of the Pacific, and his poetry was selected as a 2024 winner of the Inaugural ChapLip Library Series through Tuleburg Press. His writing has appeared in The Fire Within: Labor, Art & The Human Spirit and Center of Attention: Poems on Stockton and San Joaquin. Featured work was selected in 2024 and 2025 through Instagram poetry accounts. His artwork and poetry will be available this Friday.

Melchor Sahagun III is a Mexican-American poet from Stockton, CA, whose work uses the lyrical and abstract to express his emotional response to a strangely odd, terrifying, and beautiful world. He also said to mention that he LOVES cats. His debut collection of poetry, Sorry I’m Late, was published by Tuleburg Press in 2023 and will be available this Friday.

Window Pane 🪟✨
•
I’m afraid to touch you —
tied wrists
never, seen together
skin buried beneath snow
before your warm touch could trace them

I’m scared to disrupt your engine
each bare shoulder
caressing clouds just for me
lunar hips sway axis lips on our way out

And I’m wandering inside
gravity waves, flaring seas
of dreams with her torrid fingertips
crushing stardust in my coffee
kissing each part softly
before our sun bleeds out

✨Poetry Sessions ✨

Are you curious about poetry? Next month is our first meet up for National Poetry month. Between poetry pages live words written down for each of us to discover. You may read a line or two, maybe even a collection. But have you thought about writing your own poem?

Meet a few local poets who talk about their inspirations in poetry. We will read a poem and practice writing a poem with beginner-friendly exercises. Bring a friend and your pen 🖊️

A big thank you to our local, indie bookstore for providing a space for us to write. @ottosbookstore209

I hope to see you there. ✌🏽
