Haven’t shared a process video in forever - from this summer, Mintifying thrifted clothes into wearable Art ✨ . Some of our tools & materials include hydrogen peroxide, fabric ink, doilies, lace, hand cut stencils, HTV, cricut maker, diluted bleach, gloves & masks! . When we really get into it, our workspace is an art vortex and looks totally nuts 😆 Ask us any questions about what we do and how we do it! . 🎥 @mintyheather (Pictured at the end, our beautiful Mama who’s the artsiest person we know!) . @kira_gurumi makes the most adorable crochet pets 🐕 . #artclothing #arttowear #wearart #artclothingforsale #artclothingbrand #upcycledclothing #upcycledfashion #wearableart #wearupcycledfashion #wearupcycled #oneofakind #oneofakindclothing #oneofakindclothingdesigns #festivalclothes #processvideo #creativeprocess taken in Canada by @mintgirlsca

Dev Minty Tribute 1952-2025 Grief is… tough, to say the least. Anyone who’s gone through it knows exactly what it is; you cant put into words because it’s a state of mind and it ebbs and flows and it reshapes your life. The driving force behind “Mint Girls” has always been our parents. We grew up with a mom who is an incredibly talented artist, she can craft anything and paints gallery-worthy artwork that was always displayed around our home. As an art teacher, she knows all the proper techniques and is so talented in finding innovative ways to inspire her students, and us! Our dad, Dev Minty, was a brilliant entrepreneur who always had a side-hustle: many of them with his brother, our Uncle Connell. They invented the iconic tot slide “The Ankle-Biter” that you see in every pool everywhere, they sold weight equipment and their company logo was a mint leaf. For many reasons, things came together in 2016 for Kendra and I to join forces and start a little side-hustle selling art that was being made mostly by our Mom. Alcohol ink on thrifted white porcelain evolved to where we are today: selling up-cycled clothing and jewellery on Vancouver Island. Our Dad loved being involved in everything we were doing with our “Mint Girls” brand. He was a huge chatter, and we’d chat on the phone about new ideas and events we were doing. He helped build displays, racks and set up our tables for when we’d do our dyeing at their house in Bragg Creek. Two years ago when it was clear our Dad wasn’t able to take phone calls, our spirits broke. The hold that Alzheimer’s had on him was aggressive and within the span of a few years we went from having a mentor to mourning his death. We’re grieving him forever, there’s no choice in that, we have to adapt and live in the new reality. He did so many cool things in life, he was so talented, so fun and inspiring and he helped so many people with his skills and knowledge. The belief that we hold now and that keeps us going is that he’s here with us cheering us on, and we want to work harder than ever to honour the legacy that started with Dev Minty. Life is short, make it fun 💗 taken in Vancouver Island, BC, Canada by @mintgirlsca
